Once a soldier in the British Army, he now works for the CIA, leading an elite investigation team that tracks down missing agents. But his latest mission - to free a prisoner codenamed Maras and bring her back onto US soil within forty-eight hours - is more dangerous than anything his team has attempted before.

Despite the risks, the team successfully completes their mission, but for Drake the real danger has only just begun. Faced with a terrible threat, he is forced to go on the run with Maras - a veteran agent scarred by years of brutal imprisonment.

Hunted by his former comrades and those willing to do anything to protect a deadly secret, Drake is left with no choice but to trust a dangerous woman he barely knows. For he has only one chance to save those he loves and time is running out...

    "Entertaining" (The Telegraph)

"A high-octane and fast paced tale of derring-do set in the world of elite investigation and black-ops that had me hooked throughout…One of the strongest aspects of this book is Jordan’s grasp of characterisation as Drake is a compelling and empathetic protagonist…Overall a very creditable debut and bodes well for a long running series featuring this new action-hero." Redemption (Ryan Drake 1) - 2012
    Sacrifice (Ryan Drake 2) - 2013
    Betrayal (Ryan Drake 3) - 2014

Cast as a World War Two soldier, he was put through military boot camp in preparation for the role.

The experience piqued his interest in military history, and encouraged him to learn more about conflicts past and present. Having always enjoyed writing, he used this research as the basis for his first thriller, REDEMPTION. He was able to supplement this with visits to weapon ranges in America and Eastern Europe, as well as research trips to Washington DC.

For his second thriller SACRIFICE, he was able to interview members of the British armed forces who had served tours in Afghanistan.

His third novel in the Ryan Drake series, BETRAYAL, will be released on September 25th 2014.

He lives in Fife with his wife and two sons, and is currently writing the fourth Ryan Drake novel.

4.0 out of 5 stars A "Ripping yarn" well worth the time reading 18 Sept. 2012
    By rhosymynydd VINE VOICE
Format:Paperback|Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
I have been called to answer for using the expression, "Ripping Yarn" too often, but it certainly was the first phrase that came to mind on putting the book down. It is obviously written by someone with inside military expertise and puts "homeland" and its ilk to shame. The book introduces us to, what I hope will become, a really good series with a main story, characters that are so strong you feel you understand them intimately until they throw you a wobbly. Our initial scenario sees Ryan Drake directing his team to release a prisoner from an impossible-to-break-in/out-of, Russian jail. Maras, captured three years earlier sees no way out of her horrific time until rescue comes hard and fast. This is however, just the start. The breakout is successful, but return to US soil becomes an impossibility as the plot thickens, and thickens. So complex are the situations in which the team and Drake and Maras find themselves, henceforth and the ending is a complete cliff-hanger, designed to keep us panting for the next book.

I loved it - pure and simple. The characters are clearly defined and strong. You can decide who to hate and love very soon. I could not put this one down and began my marathon 5 hr read but it was worth every waking hour. Can't wait for a new Drake novel. Redemption (Ryan Drake 1)

4.0 out of 5 stars Fast moving and highly enjoyable 6 Oct. 2012
Format:Paperback|Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
I am not usually a fan of this type of book; finding them ultra-violent with characters barely sketched and rarely likeable, but I did enjoy this. I liked the idea of the Brit in the CIA and I liked Ryan Drake with his rather murky history and, indeed, the rest of his 'team'. Anya is, of course, rather larger than life and not the kind of person you would wish to meet on a dark night, but she has a beguilingly human side, which is more than can be said for the CIA boss of the Shepherds teams. But then, do they ever?
The 'Shepherds' specialise in retrieving agents who are in trouble, have disappeared or have gone rogue. Drake is set to retrieve an agent from a Siberian prison, which he does, and from then on the chases, of various kinds, are on.
I found this book entertaining, involving and a good read. It seemed to me to have more going for it than the usual run of the mill story of this kind. Looking forward to the return of Ryan Drake and the next round.

By Ghostgrey51 TOP 1000 REVIEWER VINE VOICE
Format:Paperback|Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Ok, so maybe the premise is not original, but that doesn't detract from what is a thumping good read. Ex- British special forces with a past employed, by the CIA on Black Ops. There is a lot of violence with guns and bodies, unlikeable folk with hidden agendas. It all starts off with another mission to get back a CIA agent, the woman Maras currently missing and spirals away from there. On that basis you know when you start reading this if the mission is successful that is not going to be the end of it by a long stretch but it's a very entertaining read.
Sometimes these thrillers can stretch credibility a measure, I must admit at the start when I began to work out that Ryan was assembling a team of middle-aged veterans to spring Maras from a Russian prison in deepest Siberia I was grimacing. However give Will Jordan his due, he makes this sort of thing credible; the location is not so far from an airdrop view point and secondly the guards at this facility are very second-grade bunch, so, yeh, it could work. And so the book progresses with credibility. Also making Maras a very dangerous loose cannon deeply scarred and honed by her brutal and dangerous life adds another layer of to `what happens next?' At times the woman is a positive Terminator about the place!
The hero Ryan Drake is a likeable sort actually, the (almost) Honest Joe in a murky world fighting to keep his figurative head above water.
Of course having it blazoned across the cover that this is the first Ryan Drake thriller kind of removes so of the suspense, but what the heck, this is an entertaining read and I have a feeling there will be a sizeable following of this series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hooked from the start! 2 Sept. 2013
    Format:Paperback
From the first page I was hooked and struggled to put the book down! The storyline reads like a Hollywood blockbuster full of twists and turns with government departments, the latest technology and locations from around the globe. The depth of detail used throughout is fantastic; the locations, the weapons, the characters; its clear that the author has undertaken painstaking research to make this such a tremendous book. I've already got the second book, "Sacrifice" and cannot wait to make a start on this. If this ever becomes a film, I'll be in the front row! Well done Will Jordan.

4.0 out of 5 stars Thrills and spills... 10 Oct. 2012
    By Raven TOP 500 REVIEWER
    Format:Paperback
A high-otane and fast paced tale of derring-do set in the world of elite investigation and black-ops that had me hooked throughout. The hero of the piece is Ryan Drake, a wonderful amalgamation of thriller favourites, Geordie Sharp, Nick Stone and `Spider' Shepherd but with a slightly softer centre as he finds himself at the whim of his immediate superiors and with an additional threat to his nearest and dearest. Tasked with liberating a former CIA agent, Maras, from a harsh prison in the snowy wastes of Siberia, Drake and his team come to realise that this mission is not all that it first appears to be and forces Drake on the run with Maras as the depth of this conspiracy becomes clear.

One of the strongest aspects of this book is Jordan's grasp of characterisation as Drake is a compelling and empathetic protagonist with a strong moral sense but who seeks to retain his professionalism as a soldier. Maras, named after the goddess of war, also proves to be an intriguing and exceptionally well-drawn character and is probably the finest kick-derriere heroine of the thriller genre I have read. She is incredibly driven, consumed with a thirst for revenge and not above using her feminine wiles to manipulate Drake to achieve this. Likewise, the characterisation of members of Drake's disparate team and his oily superiors is equally balanced and I particularly liked Drake's nemesis Dietrich who Drake reluctantly adds to his team and the way their rocky history comes to light.
