A Hot New Sexy Contemporary Romance from New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Nadia Lee -- featuring a driven, possessive alpha billionaire hero whose marriage is in trouble and who will do anything to save it...

It's love or nothing...

All Amandine Monroe ever wanted was to fit in with her glamorous and wealthy in-laws and live happily ever after with her irresistible billionaire husband Gavin Lloyd. Three years after the wedding, she's still nowhere near fitting in with her in-laws, and Gavin has given her everything--except his heart.

When she finds out she's pregnant, she decides she can't raise her child in a home devoid of love. If she can't have Gavin's heart, only a divorce will do.

Possessive and driven, Gavin won't let the only woman he truly cares for walk away without a fight. He demands full custody of their child or a chance for them to reconcile.

Saving their troubled marriage will require more than expensive gifts and a second honeymoon. If Amandine and Gavin can't overcome their pride and private fears, they'll have to let go of each other forever...

4.0 out of 5 stars a trips down imagination road review 15 Feb 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
I received a copy of Redemption in Love, book 3 of Hearts on the Line, in exchange for my review.

Amandine and Gavin have been married for three years, and yet Amandine feels as if there is something missing in their marriage. Gavin is a generous man, buying her gifts and making sure her every whim is catered for, and their chemistry in bed is amazing. Well it is when Gavin is around. As a workaholic he barely seems to have time for his wife, and now that she has discovered that she's pregnant she decides that enough is enough, announcing that she wants a divorce. The thought of Amandine leaving him leaves Gavin heart broken, and she eventually agrees to a 4 month reconciliation attempt...

I lost track of the amount of times that in my head I said 'Oh Gavin you idiot' to the main character. The way he was written made it clear to the reader that he was madly in love with his wife, even if he didn't realise that that is what it was.

I thought that the book took on a completely different tone to that of the first two books, Vengeful in Love and Reunited in Love which was probably to do with the differences between the characters. I.e. in Redemption in Love the characters are already married, and aren't falling in love, rather realising that they are. Plus both Amandine and Gavin are different from the other leads.

Amandine in particular was different, mainly because she wasn't what you would automatically call a strong female character. Though in my opinion she was, but more on that in a moment. Up until the start of the book she had always just let what happened in her marriage happen, but then she realises that she can't live like that and she begins to grow, and she becomes stronger.

I love the premise of this story; it's my favourite kind of romance. Crappy marriage being resolved throughout the tale, seeing the highs and lows, wondering if the couple are going to make it and deciding whether or not you want them to...
With Amandine and Gavin, yeah, I'm not going to lie. I wanted to bash their heads together. Quite a few times. A lot. Amandine, at times, was so wishy-washy, and Gavin was a bit of a prat. I mean, some of the stuff that goes on in the story, it just made me shake my head at his idiocy. I got to wondering how he was such a bigshot if he was such a moron in the relationship stakes. But what was great, it didn't feel like the author was at fault. It was really good characterization, lol. On both the hero and heroine's parts.
A large part of the story relied upon a lack of communication between man and wife and usually, that irritates me. It did here. Hence knocking off that half-star. But otherwise, I loved it!
Great summer read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Love this series! 25 Feb 2014

I’ve read the other books in this series, but I do have to say this is by far my favorite one so far!
My main complaint with the previous books is how predictable they were, and while that was still the case with this book there was enough going on during the course of it that it kept me on my toes.
The characters in this book, I just LOVED. I completely loved Amandine’s character. I thought she was an amazing woman who stood up for what she wanted, and she wouldn’t do anything she didn’t. Granted, Gavin did have a few tricks up his sleeve, but overall I thought she was just great. Now with Gavin’s character, there were quite a few times when I started laughing out loud because of his reaction to certain things.
I did really enjoy how we were given a semi behind the scenes look into what had been happening in the first two books with this one. That did throw me a for a loop in the beginning because I didn’t realize that the book had went back into time and was covering a lot of what was happening in the previous books.
I only wish that the story hadn’t ended the way that it did because I was hoping to find out more about what was going to happen with Amandine and Gavin’s relationship. Don’t get me wrong I loved the way the book ended, I was just hoping for so much more!
I can’t wait to read the next book in the series because this author has certainly caught my attention!

Favorite Quotes:
“She and Catherine didn’t seem to get along that well. His sister Meredith had said it was because he was Catherine’s ex, though why that could ever be a problem, he might never know unless he grew a uterus.”

My Review:
I have come to adore Nadia Lee. She writes about the wealthy in such a descriptive and enthralling manner, I find I become totally immersed in her stories. So much so, that when I stop reading, I am a bit bewildered that I am not living in a mansion, or vacationing in Tahiti, or have a rich, toned, well-groomed, and flawlessly handsome husband that spoils me with private jets and servants. Sigh… As always, her work is well written, smoking hot, easy to read, smooth flowing, and emotionally palpable. Of all of Ms. Lee’s characters that I have read so far, I believe most woman would identify with Almandine the most. I enjoyed how the story and characters evolved. If only I could evolve into a mansion, private jet, designer wardrobe, personal shopper, and Bentley owning husband…

5.0 out of 5 stars Hearts or Lives on the Line? 22 April 2014

Gavin has always been afraid of loving anyone because his brother Jacob has always stolen his girlfriends. Even though the has been married to Amandine for 3 years he feels like if he tells her that he loves her that he will lose her too. So he buys her extravagant gifts to try to show her how much he loves her. But that is the last thing she wants. She wants him to TELL her that he loves her. Will he realize what she needs before it is too late and he loses her?
I like how all of these books are all tied together but could be read separately. And how you revisit others from previous books and get updates on them also.

4.0 out of 5 stars Probably not my favourite of the series so far but still good 9 Mar 2014

I liked that this story was different again from the first 2. I must admit that although we were introduced to the H in book 2, I don't remember reading that he was married. In this story the h is a totally neglected wife and on her 3rd anniversary is quite cruelly stood up by her husband, who was tending to his ex and her drama. The ex happens to be the h's cousin and the h is terribly insecure because she has always thought she was second prize to the H. The h finds out that she is pregnant and had wanted to share the news with her husband but his priorities are all screwed up. The h puts up with a lot from the H and is ridiculously patient up to the point where she isn't anymore.

I liked the way the author worked on the H's character through the book, slowly getting him to realise where he was going wrong. He is still supremely stupid towards the end but since I likened this series to 'Harlequin Presents', you'll know that it all works out nicely in the end.

4.0 out of 5 stars Thoroughly Enjoyed This One 28 April 2014

Nadia Lee has quickly become one of my favorite authors. It's not that her stories are so in depth that they require huge amounts of thought and inner reflection to appreciate. Quite the opposite.

They're light, easy, refreshing and completely entertaining. Her style of writing is crisp and clean, her story lines are straight forward and uncomplicated, and the dialogues are realistic and pithy.

I'm on to book four and looking forward to being entertained once more.
