This is a GREAT album! Not a week track here and an amazing return to form for a band who has been in the wilderness for the best part of 20 years almost.
If you like your music honest, clean and untampered with by modern technology and sampled blah blah blah then this is for you.
Production wise the sound is crisp and powerful and very well done, and is probably a kind of AC/DCish in comparison, even though I do admit that this is a lazy comparison by myself, though I want as many people as possible to be able to access this awesome record.

If I was to compare the sound and style/genre I would say there are obvious AC/DC comparisons that can be made, though it is essentially a powerful Blues-Rock record and although I have mentioned the 'DC in this, I feel there is a huge amount of Rolling Stones here, the riffing is especially Stones-esque, though the Stones can't claim to have done anything this good in nearly 40 years, nor can AC/DC really, not since Back in Black anyway back in '80.

The singing style in kind of gravelly and loose, this isn't Whitesnake nor does it want to be, so although the singing is very competent, it is also appropriate, as it does not take away emphasis on the rather splendid musicianship of the others.

This is just one of those records that come along once-in-a-while that forms a very close relationship with your stereo in that they become inseperable and form a near perfect monogamous marriage that lasts a very long time indeed.

A great record that merits 5 stars, and a contender for album of the year already. I'm going to see these guys in December at the Hard Rock Hell V festival where I find it impossible to believe that they won't make new friends and fans alike.

Just buy it and have a go at me later if you think I'm wrong, though I don't expect you will!

Thanks,

Jon

For more "in the know" rockers of a certain age, it will always be a mystery why Litle Caesar didn't make it big(ger) "back in the day". As the band themselves touch on in the sleevenotes, they were probably too "real" for the music industry who wanted trite pop metal from androgynous hair metal bands. Certainly any music fan who heard their early work, could not have failed to be impressed by LC.......and now they are back and good as ever! This new CD really is like a breath of fresh air in today's music climate, and puts many of the bigger names in the classic rock arena to shame! Ron Young still has some of the finest pipes on the planet and the whole band here rock with power, passion, honesty and emotion. The CD features a great mix of rockers and some more mid tempo tunes, including the title track which is a stone cold classic in the making. There are also several intersting covers, which the band make their own. All in all a cracking album, and I strongly urge fans of bluesy hard rock to buy this now!

As a massive Caesar fan first time around i almost fainted when i read on their MySpace page that they were releasing a new set of tunes. All the things that set them apart from the herd last time are back with an uptempo set of soulful rockers. As for standout tracks the beauty is there isn't any, just consistant brilliance from Ron and the boys, although my personal favourite would probably be "witness stand".well what does it sound like i hear you say? Play the "Sons of Anarchy" dvd with this as the unoffical soundtrack and you will get the picture!......and yes i really do believe that this is the album of the year.

Now this is a band the puts the soul into rock, the blues into rock, and the roll into rock. If you like Lynyrd Skynyrds Gods n Guns, then you will like this. This band could have been big but like Junkyard and bands of a similar style they were probably in the wrobg place at the wrong time. Look out youtube for their vids. Classic rockers who like skynyrd, whitesnake, zep, Will like them. Check em out and decide for yourself. You honestly wont b disappointed.

Two or three belting tracks lead on to others that one grows to like. No bad track on the album, if you like 'Influence' you'll like this. Classic style rock that falls somewhere in style between FM and Buckcherry. Downloaded this as an mp3 album, was a cinch and no DRM rubbish to contend with (like a lot of itunes) when copying tracks to my phone etc.
