Product Description

Product Description

After fleeing the planet Paradis and discovering that many of their ships were no longer capable of deep space travel, the Colonials were forced to hold a lottery to decide who in the fleet would live and who would have to stay behind and die. Apollo, Sheba, and Koran forfeit their secured place in the fleet to stay behind with 800 other Colonials who have been chosen by the people's lottery to sacrifice their lives. They are surprised by the arrival of an ancient 13th Tribe space ark, which had been freed from its frozen grave deep within the bowels of Paradis by the catastrophic destruction of the planet. They discover that the huge craft is habitable and capable of sustaining all surviving colonials who were forced to stay behind.

It's a bit slight... 7 Mar 2006
By Mike Luoma - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
After "Paradis", "Destiny" and now "Redemption" read like combined and inflated scripts for Richard Hatch's proposed season for a new "Battlestar Galactica" sequel TV series. The problem is that they're too episodic, with too little resolution. They don't stand well as novels on their own. There's been little real plot advancement, just incidents, stuff happening, and all shortly after the post "Paradis" split of the fleet (it's telling that half the fleet doesn't actually get to its destination, while the other half stays where they were at the start of the book). With the demise of ibooks, I have to wonder if Richard Hatch will get to finish telling the meta story. It still feels undone.

The 13th tribe is alive 12 Jun 2007
By bookreader - Published on Amazon.com

I have to disagree with the other reviewers of this book... I found it hitting square on with the central theme of Glen Larson in its connection to the ancient mysteries of the bible, atlantis, toletecs, mayans etc... The premise of Battlestar Galactica was that our pre-history wonders from around the world, which even now we struggle to explain were part of the early settlement of the the colonies, the 13th tribe. Richard's book plays into this theme very neatly with the space story of Noah's ark. The let your mind wonder connection between the two is what made this story so enjoyable for me. Try to think of the tale of Noah's ark being a story of this ark and I do believe if one is not too critical this story does come alive. Read it for yourself and you'll see Richard is doing a fine job carrying on Mr. Larsons story line.

Fun Read 11 Oct 2008

I enjoyed all of these Hatch Battlestar books and its a shame he's not allowed to continue by the old owner of the original BattleStar Galactica stuff. This stand off makes Glen look bad and it only hurts the fans. So I hope the series is allow to continue soon.
