Book Description

NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR:
First of all, I'd like to thank all you readers encouraging me to hurry up and finish Wolf. Secondly, I heard your comments and knew many wanted a longer book. Wolf is significantly longer and I hope you'll enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it!

Long ago there lived a beautiful child. Her name was Violet. Fair of skin, with blonde hair and large blue eyes. Born of wild magic, she was a woman with a child’s heart. Innocent and lovely, but not at all what she seemed--you see Violet went by another name: The Heartsong.

She was the child of fairy magic, the physical manifestation of all fae kinds unbridled power. Cosseted and pampered, she grew up in isolation, never knowing who she really was, or why there were those who’d seek to harm her.

Ewan of the Blackfoot Clan is a wolf with a problem. He’s been sent to kill the Heartsong, but the moment he lays eyes on the blonde beauty he knows he’ll defy the evil fae he works for to claim Violet as his own.

This is the tale of Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf, as it really happened...

This is not an erotica, just a good old fashioned romance.

Her Mad Hatter (Book 1) Alice in Wonderland

More About the Author

Marie Hall has always held a dangerous fascination for creatures that go bump in the night. And mermaids. And of course fairies. Trolls. Unicorns. Shapeshifters. Vampires. Scottish brogues. Kilts. Beefy arms. Ummm... Bad boys! Especially the sexy ones.

Then the day came she realized apart from the sexy bad boy she married, there'd be no vampires/shapeshifters/mermaids/fairies/or even stinky trolls in her future unless she wrote about them. More often than not she can be found roaming the wild, lush tropical forest she calls her backyard (a.k.a. Hawaii) and day dreaming constantly about her latest project. Her Mad Hatter is the first book of her Kingdom Series.

The cover to the left is book 1 of my full length: Choas Time Series, release date of January 2013. Though if the Mayan Calendar was right and the world's set to end in December, well... then I hope you enjoy the picture!

Red and Her Wolf is book 3 of the Kingdom Series.

The Heartsong was born of fairy magic and was protected as such until the Black Fairy decided she should die. Sending her wolves to do the job all goes to plan until Ewan realises that the Heartsong, Violet, is his mate, and realises he'll do anything to protect her. But that is when things start to go wrong, and the Heartsong is sent to Earth to hide from those that would kill her, whereas Ewan must stay in his human form for fifty years. 500 years later, Ewan still misses his mate, though there are signs that he will soon be reunited with her. Danika has hated lying to one of her boys, she knew that it was for his own good, but now she'll do anything to help Ewan get back his Red.

Firstly, I thought that Red and Her Wolf was the most traditional of the stories retold in The Kingdom Series so far. By that I mean that almost all of the aspects of Little Red Riding Hood were used in the early story, but they were then expanded upon to make a whole new story for Red/Violet and Ewan. This also took into account the motives of the wolf to eat Red's Grandmother.

There was also more of an overlap into other stories, in this case the Jinni played more of a part, and was expanded upon making me interested to see where his story is headed. There was also an update on Alice and the Hatter from book 1, who are happy and just as mad as each other now, and even a mention of Hansel and Gretel.

The other difference between this book and the others was that there was more seen of Kingdom itself, and it became clear that the world Hall has created is both vivid and varied. Again making me want to see more of the world and its characters!

5.0 out of 5 stars Little Red Riding Hood is all grown up 31 May 2013
By Gaele
Format:Kindle Edition
This is the 3rd in the delightful Kingdom series by Marie Hall. I do need to mention that Marie graciously asked me to beta read this book, and that was a true treat.

This book continues to follow the story of the "bad boys of faerie tales", and while Miriam is consistently the one character that is recurring regularly: her part in the saga is easy to discover and follow.

I think I liked this even more than Her Mad Hatter, probably because the points of view and action are a little less frenetic , without the Mad Hatter as the primary narrator. Taking the story of Little Red Riding Hood and integrating it with other faerie tales into a romantic story where the bad boys find their own happily ever after is a task that the author managed with finesse and humor. While the initial response often is to refer to these stories as we would when we first encountered them - this is a backstory and alternate that sits far closer (In my opinion) to the darkness of the original tales penned by the Grimm brothers. Not that these stories are dark, but they carry their own bits of tension and dramatic angst that make the conclusions more satisfying.

As a single story, or as a series read - these will delight and bring a smile - perhaps encouraging you to seek out all of the stories that have combined to create the world in which the Kingdom exists.

I received an eBook copy from author for purpose of honest review for the goodreads group "Lovers of Paranormal". I was not compensated for this review, and all conclusions are my own responsibility.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as the other two 22 Jan. 2013

I enjoyed the book but found it harder to get into. I read the first two of the series immediately and in one go while this one bored me for a while but when the supernatural started it was a good read

5.0 out of 5 stars Another good book... 14 Feb. 2015

I've really enjoyed Marie Hall's Kingdom series and this book was no exception. I liked that there was a different approach to this one with both characters starting out in the Kingdom. It was longer than the previous books and did a great job of turning the fairy tale into a romance. If you've read the previous books, you will love this one.
