Product Description

Harry Eastwood loves cake: from light, fluffy Victoria Sponge to dark and delicious Forbidden Chocolate Brownies. In "Red Velvet & Chocolate Heartache", she has fiddled, tweaked and thought outside the box to pioneer a way of bringing exquisite cakes that remain natural and healthy into our everyday lives - by introducing ingredients from the vegetable garden. Ginger Sticky Toffee Pudding made with parsnip, or Orange Squash Cupcakes made with butternut squash are bound to amuse and delight your tastebuds. 5.0 out of 5 stars Yummmmmm, 22 July 2009
By L. H. Gordon (London) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
On the cover of this book is a large, gooey, sumptuous and thoroughly naughty looking chocolate cake, and all I want to do is shove my finger right into the icing. But the great thing is - it's a LIGHT CHOCOLATE CAKE! And it's made with little butter but lots of butternut squash! Therefore we are all justified in counting this cake as one of our five-a-day, and the larger the slab the healthier we are being as far as I'm concerned.
This is the theme that runs throughout the book's deliciously designed, illustrated and written pages - fun and fabulous cakes and cupcakes without all the fat. I would recommend Harry's book to anyone and everyone who just wants to have their cake and jolly well eat it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Let them eat cake, 20 July 2009
By D. Robinson - See all my reviews

I would strongly recommend this book for people who don't eat wheat. The cakes taste like normal cakes but use vegetables instead of wheat.I bought it last week and we had a try at one of the recipes over the weekend. The recipes are easy to follow and have lots of helpful hints.

5.0 out of 5 stars D for Delicious!, 13 July 2009
By Mary Parr (London) - See all my reviews
This book is absolutely brilliant. I had come across Harry before on Cook Yourself Thin and made some of her other cake recipies (like that amazing chocolate fudge cake one) and was so pleased to see this book. Not only is it a beautiful book but the cakes are incredible - stuffed full of veg and you would NEVER know!
It's on my birthday and christmas list for every mother I know - quite literally.
