Product Description

The Book Magazine, Autumn/Winter 2007

"a light-hearted and handy guide to planting for the keen and not-so-keen gardener. Each plant is accompanied by witty and useful tips on how to cultivate it; in fact, forget the loo, this book can go straight into the potting shed."

Review

Amateur Gardening, 19th January ‘[this] gardening book has banished political correctness to the compost heap and dared to break the ultimate horticultural taboo - by focusing on saucy plant names!’

Dorset magazine, January 2008 ‘If this isn't the funniest gardening book ever written, then I'll eat my gardening gloves. Great fun.’

As a "gardening widow" who loses her husband to the delights of the potagé I was delighted to find this book which is not only well-researched and on-the-money when it comes to horticulture itself but is also absolutely hilarious. I was particularly interested in and amused by the chapter entitled 'Plants to give people you hate'. Overall, a book to be highly recommended for those relatives at Christmas.

Absolutely brilliant book, superbly written, extremely funny and the perfect present for anyone remotely interested in gardening. I sincerely hope Mrs Langton-Gilks will continue writing.

Ace - hilarious 25 Jan 2008
Format:Hardcover
There aren't many funny books about gardening but this is the funniest. I have hardly laughed so hard at any book, let alone a gardening one. It's now my standard issue present for friends in need of presents
