From Paddy Breathnach, the director of SHROOMS, comes this nerve-shredding new horror with a star-studded cast including Arielle Kebbel, Sarah Carter, MyAnna Buring, Andrew Lee Potts and Martin Compston.

A group of medical students at Forthaven General Hospital study hard and party harder, until a cruel prank accidentally puts the hospital's creepy caretaker into a deep coma. But when Catherine (Arielle Kebbel) tries to revive the degenerate loner with an experimental drug, she instead sends his brainwaves berserk.

It’s not long before Catherine’s friends are picked off one-by-one in a spree of grisly kills as the ultimate out-of body experience ushers in a bloodbath of brutal revenge.

4.0 out of 5 stars Suprisingly good horror 1 May 2010
Andrew Lee Potts; the lovable buffoon of tv's 'Primeval', shows he can act as he moves to the big screen with this intelligent and well written psycho horror. Jonathan has already written an excellent synopsis so I'll only comment on the film overall. A largely unknown cast gives a good peformance in this film playing a bunch of degenerate medical students being hunted down one by one by Kenneth the hospital misfit who they put into a coma. The theme of the story is out of body experience and possession and although the story is predictable this is way better than your average American slasher film. The production qualities are first class and the kills are realistic and relevant to poor Kenneth's demise. The film is presented in full screen and the blu-ray transfer was good enough for my wife to comment on the high quality of the picture. The soundtrack holds no suprises. There a few extras but nothing to write home about. Well worth renting.

5.0 out of 5 stars "..VERY COOL HORROR.." 23 April 2012
This was another underated small release dvd in the u.k which is a shame as it it a very good film, its your average revenge movie where the victim goes after the people that did them bad! Arielle Kebbel is a nice actress and very sexy, which is another good reason to see it. its a good fun horror film and slightly more original than your average plot, there is a nice twist to it too right in the last few seconds of the film. WARNING though, there is rather alot of strobe light effects in the film which are cool but there is no warning for people on the dvd cover!

4.0 out of 5 stars Coma Chameleon 28 Jan 2010
By Mr. Jonathon T. Beckett TOP 1000 REVIEWER
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
A group of ambitious medical students get together to party the night away, with a mix of drink and drugs nicked from the hospital pharmacy. Along comes Kenneth(Andrew Lee Potts, of Primeval and Ideal fame), not exactly the life and soul of the party,a shuffling, stammering mortuary worker with a penchant for self harm. He has a crush on one of the students Catherine(Arielle Kebbel), and asks to walk her home. He is told to get lost by obnoxious Sean(Martin Compston) and Kenneth retaliates by telling them he has filmed the stealing of the drugs from the pharmacy, on his mobile. Worried, they invite him to sit with them, in order to placate him, and steal the evidence.
The it all goes pear shaped. After pouring copious amounts of liquer down Kenneth's throat, he suffers an epileptic seizure, and then goes into shock. Catherine wants to ring for the ambulance, but the others all side with Sean, who says that if they are caught with illegal drugs, their careers will be over. So instead, they dump Kenneth by the hospital. Catherine rings the hospital ward later to discover that Kenneth has slipped into a coma. Sean is pleased, as this guarantees Kenneth's silence. Catherine is not so pleased, and wracked with guilt, she uses her brilliant medical mind to research drugs that may help Kenneth's recovery. The following night she enters the ward under false pretences, and injects Kenneth with the drug. She should have researched the side effects more carefully, as soon Kenneth is able, through out of body experiences, to possess other peoples bodies, in order to carry out a bloody revenge on his tormentors.
This film is directed by Paddy Breathnach, who also has Shrooms in his directing credits.

2.0 out of 5 stars FREAK DOG, 31 July 2013
By The Movie Guy TOP 500 REVIEWER
Kevin is a creepy morgue attendant and outcast who is shy and stutters. He has made a video of med students appropriating some party pharmaceuticals. They invite him to drink and party with him under the guise that if he participates, he won't tell. Turns out Kevin is a bit epileptic and ends up in a coma as the kids dump him off at the hospital and run.

Catherine (Arielle Kebbel), the girl Kevin had a crush on, feels guilty and attempts to revive him with an experimental that stimulates the brain which happens to be the part of the brain which gives people out of body experiences. Soon people in the click are brutally murdered.

Okay, the killer is a guy in a coma. It was a bit of a yawner. For some reason the film lacked intensity.

F-bombs, brief sex?, brief corpse nudity, Arielle Kebbel,Sarah Boyd-Wilson bra/panties

1.0 out of 5 stars Pointless film. Review contains spoilers. 11 Dec 2011
By Mark G.
The film opens with a young boy witnessing his prostitute mother being murdered...and that's it for the back story really so I hope that is enough reason for why in his teens, Kenneth (for that is the boy's name) likes to film the corpses of girls in the morgue and cut himself.

Anyway, we are introduced to a group of medical students who tick all the generic teen horror boxes, of which my favourite character has to be the pasty goth girl who wears a black & white striped top so that she resembles a mime. Only of course, a crap mime that speaks and forces us to endure her awful dialogue.

So the students go out partying, drinking and drug-taking and they encounter morgue boy Kenneth at a club. They all pick on Kenneth except of course for token 'nice girl' Catherine, who Kenneth has a crush on.

Somewhere amongst all the cliched dialogue, Kenneth is given some drugged booze and falls into a coma.
Gasp. What to do? Should they call for an ambulance? Should they use their medical training to help Kenneth? Oh, I know. How about if they all decide that they will get in trouble so the best course of action would be to dump Kenneth outside the hospital and then do a runner.

While Kenneth is in his coma, in one day Catherine does enough research to allow her to craft a wonder drug that she thinks will help him. One injection later and...

Adverse Effects! Out of body experience! Murder!

If you think that sounds interesting, it isn't. The film is just a huge waste of time.
Dull, uninspired, uninteresting and instantly forgetable.

If you want to watch a good film about a guy in a coma, using his powers to kill people then watch Patrick [DVD] and give this a miss
