Product Description

Authors, speakers, small business've got three choices:

1. Spend a fortune on advertising and other old-school marketing, and pray that you'll make back your investment, against all odds.
2. Fritter away two or three years blindly stumbling around, trying to figure out what works on your own, while competing for attention with more than 25,000,000,000 web pages.
3. Listen to an expert who can show you how to get your website noticed, visited, and purchased from--who can show you how to be smart and successful online while keeping your dollars in your own wallet, and whose own site is in the top 1 percent* for traffic of all the sites in the world.

Penny Sansevieri is that expert, and this book is your road map. In the rapidly changing world of Internet publicity, this book is up-to-the-minute (covering social media in detail--not just Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn but also recent powerhouse sites like Pinterest and Google Plus--even a chapter on the reputation-rating site Klout). You'll learn...

* How gain real visibility in Google, no matter how they shift their algorithms--and why that can make a tremendous difference in your business
* What to do on your own websites, what to do on social media, and how to make money in both of those worlds
* How to capture an online market far bigger than PC users (hint: look at what's clipped to your belt or inside your pocket)

4.0 out of 5 stars Useful and well-written 22 July 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a wide-ranging and very useful book, covering most essentials. Introduced me to several marketing areas I hadn't considered. As with almost everything on the Internet it is already a touch out-of-date in some respects, but this can't be avoided - the Net moves too fast.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Marketing Manual for the Internet 22 April 2013
By John Chancellor - Published on
Most people who write a book or create a product/service focus their attention entirely on the quality of the book or the product/service. They often operate under the assumption that if "you build a better mousetrap the world will beat a path to your door". It is a rather harsh fact, but the success of your book/product/service will depend more on the quality/effectiveness of your marketing than the quality of the product.

In many respects, the Internet has leveled the playing field. The traditional gatekeepers have lost a lot of their power. It is now possible for the average person to write and publish a book, create a product or service and offer it for sale in a vast array of virtual stores. But putting a book on or a product on eBay does not guarantee the financial success. You need an effective marketing plan.

Penny Sansevieri, the author of Red Hot Internet Publicity, has written a very complete guide for marketing your book or other product/service on the Internet. The book is much more than a how to guide for getting publicity. It is a complete guide for how to market any product or service.

The book is well written in a very conversational style. The topics are well -organized and cover everything - from the basics of website design to the different social media platforms. There are plenty of "Red Hot Tips" scattered throughout the book.

Ms. Sansevieri writes from a sound base of personal experience. She teaches the principles covered in the book. Most of what she teaches is what she learned by doing for her own account and for the benefit of clients. The information is based on what works in the real world. Ms. Sansevieri's company - Author Marketing Experts is mentioned occasionally as way of illustrating a point. But the book is not a blatant marketing tool - the information is both insightful and valuable.

The book is divided into five parts. The first section covers SEO - Search Engine Optimization, the section covers Your Website, the third section covers Social Media, including Twitter, Facebook, Linked-In, Google+, Pinterest, and Klout. Section four covers Blogging and section five covers Driving More Traffic. There is an extensive list of additional resources at the end of the book. This list of resources will save you a ton of research time and will alert you to resources you may have never thought about.

For anyone struggling to get traction with their book, product or service, this is a very valuable marketing manual.

I was provided a review copy of this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars How To Get Maximum Publicity - A Guide for Authors and Business Owners 9 April 2014
By Rebecca of Amazon - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Penny Sansevieri is extremely knowledgeable and is an expert on all things Internet. In "Red Hot Internet Publicity" she covers every imaginable detail you would need to think about as a business owner or author seeking publicity online.

There are some good practical tips like considering your website visitor's attention span when creating a website. There are also things you need to know about how to encourage people to remain at your site longer. There is even advice on how to pick a site name which will be helpful for anyone starting out online.

I liked the very interesting chapters on blogging. Also there are some good tips for creating videos, newsletters and apps. Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest are also discussed.

What made this book especially enjoyable was all the funny quotes at the beginning of each chapter.

This book is written in a very friendly conversational style. Penny Sansevieri makes everything she discuses very easy to understand. This book may take you two days to read but it will give you a wealth of information you will use for years to come. I recommend you read this book once to get a general idea of the Internet landscape. Then further readings while taking lots of notes will help you implement the ideas.

So I can highly recommend this to new authors or those just starting a business. It will also help established authors and business owners who want to take advantage of all the Internet offers.
