Book Description

Oct 2013
A LIMITED SIGNED AND NUMBERED EDITION For Scarlet, raising two daughters alone means fighting for tomorrow is an everyday battle. Nathan, desperately clinging to a dead-end job and a loveless marriage, survives purely for his little girl, Zoe. Miranda's biggest problem is driving her sister home from college with their boyfriends, whilst keeping her new Mini Cooper scratch free. When news comes of a deadly epidemic, panic seeps into homes all over the world and chaos ensues...Knowing that they can't outrun the danger, they all head for shelter and security at the same secluded ranch - Red Hill. When a normal day spins out of control and the world comes crashing to an end. How far will they go to save their loved ones? Would you slow down to help a stranger if you were running for your lives? Set against the backdrop of a brilliantly realized apocalyptic world, love somehow finds a way to survive. But what happens when the one you'd die for becomes the one who could destroy you…

Product Description

Review

'Red Hill is a fascinating look at humanity and endurance and is a nice, solid, standalone novel that would make a perfect Halloween read!' -Jess Hearts Books

'I prefer to end my playlists the same way I end my novels: on an upbeat note. So the Red Hill playlist ends with Gone, Gone, Gone by Phillip Phillips. It's a savory yet sweet tune about loving someone even past their last day, because loving someone like you might lose them tomorrow is the best way to love.' --USA Today --This text refers to an alternate Hardcover edition.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, I could not put it down. 18 Mar 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
So I must admit (shamefully) that although I LOVE every other book of Jamie's I was a bit dubious about this one. It seemed so out of sync with her previous books. It made me wonder why she wrote it and if it would be any good. My love of her writing style, and my love of zombie books made me buy it and read it. And I am so glad I did.

I found it so difficult to put down. I loved the beginning as was done in a different setting than any other zombie type book I've read before. So instantly it had my attention, and my attention didn't flag one little bit throughout. There were no boring bits that made me want to skip a few pages. There were no dull fluff pieces to fill out the chapters.

I loved the alternate characters and how their lives intertwined and how they developed throughout the book along side the plot.

I would definitely read this again and again. I recommend that you do to, you wont regret it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Genius 2 Oct 2013
By Em
Format:Paperback
I have read all of Jamie McGuires books and LOVED every single one. When I first heard about Red Hill, the whole zombie apocalypse thing I thought...really?! You can do angels and badboys really well but im not so sure about zombies!! But boy did she pull it off! Within the first few chapters I was teary eyed and feeling sick. Some parts were gut wrenching, others were heartbreaking. I don't usually write reviews, hence being so short and probably quite unhelpful, but seriously...take a chance on this one you will not regret it!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful 4 Feb 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I was very nervous about reading this book as I don't really read anything like this, however it was Jamie after all so thought I'd give it a go!!!

My God I adored it, fast paced and constantly engaging!! It made you feel like you were there and the stories were woven so well and so beautifully that it was so easy to feel a part of it all. There was never a dull moment or anything predicable.

It has made me want to read another zombie book now, despite never having been interested before !! Great!

3.0 out of 5 stars Aright, but not great. 12 Dec 2013
By L
Format:Kindle Edition
I really wanted to love this book as I'm a huge Jamie fan, but I just couldn't and I actually had to force myself to finish it as I was completely bored by the third chapter. The characters just didn't hold my attention like her other books have, and I found most of them irritating. I also didn't find the plot all that gripping. A real shame.
