Red Dead Redemption Limited Edition

This all-inclusive Limited Edition for Red Dead Redemption features the full game, The Deadly Assassin Outfit, the Golden Gun Weapon pack, the War Horse and the originally scored soundtrack from the game.

THE RED DEAD REDEMPTION GAME

THE DEADLY ASSASSIN OUTFIT
John Marston's "Deadly Assassin" outfit causes your Dead Eye meter to regenerate at twice the speed. With more Dead Eye, you have more time to place each shot with total accuracy, making you the deadliest gunslinger in any fight.

THE WAR HORSE
There are countless horses to be found in the massive world of Red Dead Redemption, but none is stronger, faster or tougher than the exclusive War Horse. Whether storming gang hideouts, exploring the wilderness for hidden treasure, or outrunning the law, the War Horse gives gunslingers an advantage in nearly every situation.

THE GOLDEN GUNS WEAPON PACK

The player who wields the exclusive Golden Guns receives more Fame for each kill. The more Fame you get, the more in-game side missions become available. So there will be more opportunities to duel, more kidnapped townsfolk to rescue and you can bribe lawmen for less.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Once upon a time in the west" 23 May 2010

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
If you entertain a pathological dislike of westerns then this game may not be for you but if like me you grew up on a diet of films like "Once Upon A Time In The West" "The Searchers", "Stagecoach", "Big Country", "The Magnificent Seven", "Rio Bravo", "True Grit", "The Sons of Katie Elder" and many, many others; you're going to love "Red Dead Redemption" with a passion.

So Rockstar has finally made the break from setting GTA in the same environments and given us a Western sandbox to play with. I would suggest that it was entirely the right decision. Let me just say now that there is far too much in this game to even begin to cover it all in one short review.

As wonderous as Liberty City became during it's last outing the world of Red Dead Redemption is so very much better. There is a breadth, scale and life to Western Border States that delights with each new discovery. Gone are the purely abusive passers-by and what replaces them are characters who all seem to serve a purpose other than pavement skittles. The level of detail is almost fanatical in it's love of the Western mythology. The towns and small settlements ooze authenticity from the layout and architecture to the town drunk, ineffectual marshal, snake oil salesman, bar-room girl and self-righteous bible-basher. Every western film cliche is here and you're only too glad to see them.

As the stranger-on-a-mission you enter this world and thankfully find yourself taken in by friendly ranchers who through a series of small missions teach you all you need to know about the game world (riding, shooting, roping etc) The characters are well acted, believable and likeable where appropriate which is a welcome improvement on the usual line-up of GTA freaks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Red Dead Redemption 13 July 2011
Platform for Display:PLAYSTATION 3|Edition:Limited Edition
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
Basically, if you liked watching Western films, enjoy the sandbox gameplay of any of the Rockstar Games series "Grand Theft Auto", you are going to love this game.

There is a great storyline (which I won't spoil for you by going into it) and enough variety to keep you entertained in single player, and it can be fun in multi-player, forming 'posies' with friends or people you meet along the trail. Don't get caught out on your own in multi-player however, as you can become the victim of 'spawn camping' - i.e. nasty people who shoot you with a sniper rifle from a distance, and wait for you to re-spawn nearby, only to kill you again.

There is some great dynamic music which brings the whole game to life, which varies according to the situation, i.e. calm music when you're trotting along the lonesome trail on your horse to tense music when you're in a chase. There is some 'real world' scripting of the game world which makes it feel real, i.e. at sundown people in towns close their shops and go to bed, or the saloon, and wolves and foxes are seen more frequently than during the day.

The graphics and effects are beautiful, and there are lots of different outfits, guns and horses to unlock by performing missions and playing multiplayer games. Multiplayer offers a wandering experience, with various activities, and it can be either competitve, playing against other people as an individual, or in a team. Alternatively, you can launch or join in with co-operative missions against gangs of AI (artificial intelligence) Computer opponents.

Great fun, and a must buy for anyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Old Wild West 7 Mar 2011
Platform for Display:PLAYSTATION 3|Edition:Limited Edition
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
The game of Red Dead Redemption is fantastic. The reason why the game is fantastic because it has many things you can do on the game, just follow the list I typed down from one to eight: 1.Free roam is great where you can travel from around the wild west to Mexico at any time with 24 hour time cycle. 2.The Graphics are very good with characters, environment, animals and also the sound effects won't let you down. 3.You can play on single player or multiplayer. 4. If you like western games this is your game. 5.You will like the unlockable items you will achieve when you complete challenges and others. 6.The story is quite good to and you're like the character John Marston he's a cool cowboy. 7.You may learn about the world in 1911. And 8. The Limited Edition contains the codes to unlock new items that you can't get on the normal Red Dead Redemption, you will enjoy them trust me. Anyway I hope this review helps you to decide.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great 23 Jun 2010
Platform for Display:PLAYSTATION 3|Edition:Limited Edition
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Having seen ads and videos for this game I thought I'd give it a try, not believing it could be that good. I was however blown away by this game, there is something for everyone today from hunting down outlaws to picking flowers for an old man's wife to "rounding up cattle" and "breaking" horses. Never a dull moment and the horse control is so good :)
