4.0 out of 5 stars Nice little film 8 Dec 2010
Format:DVD|Amazon Verified Purchase
I enjoyed this movie, as it was different from a lot of the rubbish that is available on dvd.
The story goes where you don't expect it to.
I won't say more because some people give away the story when they review a film, which spoils it for those who haven't seen it.
All I can say is that I enjoyed it

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly enjoyable. 8 April 2009
Format:DVD
This is primarily a movie about escaltion, and skillfully shows how small things can eget out of hand when people refuse to let things go. In this case it's Brian cox's character seeking an apology after young thugs kill his dog red.
I won't go into too much detail, as amazon themselves provide the best synopsis for this, nor would I want to ruin the film by spelling out the plot. I guess people who have read the book may already know but I am yet to read a Jack ketchum novel (something I will soon remedy). What I will say is that this is a damned good little movie. Don't watch expecting another death wish, brave one or death sentence as this is a far more sedate and character driven movie with an excellent central performance from brian cox. While nontheless gripping, it is rather anti-violence, showing how seemingly trivial matters can soon get out of hand. No extras to speak of but the print is fine and well worth watching.

5.0 out of 5 stars Truth be told, a wonderful little film. 1 Oct 2009
Format:DVD
I was pleasantly surprised by this film, initially expecting another Death Sentence / Brave One style film, but instead got something really quite unique. It's a wonderfully told story, not about violence and vengeance but about truth and the morale values of doing the right thing. Now and then, you get these little unexpected gems that stand their own ground, complimented perfectly by a mellow score and superb acting.
