I enjoyed the third in the Shetland series as much as the others.
I especially enjoyed the development of Sandy's character as he played more of a peripheral role in the other books but his feelings, fears and desires are brought out in this one perfectly.
From the previous encounters we might have assumed that Sandy was the typical, loutish, 'worldly wise' young man but here we find that no matter how they look from the outside anyone can have a sensitive side.
I really looked forward to settling down at the end of the day to a few more chapters and tried not to read it too fast so I could string out the enjoyment for as long as possible.
A visit to the Shetlands is definitely on the cards sometime soon!
