A couple's passion for giving used items a new lease of life has
transformed their home -- Daily Express, February 23, 2007

About the Author

Since leaving London, and their careers in design and the art world, Moira and Nicholas Hankinson have produced an internationally acclaimed range of furniture for house and garden, and continued to pioneer the use of salvaged materials around the home. Passionate about reclamation, they have even given various interiors magazines access to two of their previous homes, both of which were restored, as far as possible, with rescued materials. They are also the authors of Garden Ornaments.

I bought this book for my son who is always making something out of something else. It came well packed & although i bought it as used, it had no marks on it & looked almost new. Loads of good photos & great ideas. My son loved it & i'd recommend this book to anyone who likes to make stuff from things already to hand but no longer in use. Great little book & well worth the money.

The ideas in thiss book are not really crafty but more making, i.e. bigger items. That said I want to try lots of them, just a bit worried I may chop off a finger with a power tool etc. Even if you don't make any of the ideas it's a lovely coffee table book.

I was thinking about buying a copy of this but I resolved to remain true to the spirit of the book and decided that I should wait until I found one in a skip instead.

A very stylized collection of upcycled and recycled projects.... 8 Mar 2012
By A. M. Edwards - Published on Amazon.com
Really beautiful and inspiring projects with a lot of commonly found items. I loved the paint colors, the simplicity of a lot of the designs but also how stylish the items were. So many of these books look like garbage stuck on a stick. This book is much, much more for the style minded. Great book!
