This board, available in 2 sizes has two finger grooves, and is fully reversible. The design will complement both traditional and modern kitchens alike.

Chopping Board,

A very large and very heavy chopping board. Before I bought this I didn't realise how big it would be and would've probably gone for the smaller square version otherwise. It's very sturdy and will require two hands to lift, as it weighs around 6kg. You'll also need a big space to store it. Works very well as a chopping board as it's raised 6cm from the worktop and doesn't slip. Can be cleaned with warm soapy water and preserved periodically with vegetable oil.
Avoid soaking and store on it's side to prevent warping.

If you do as much cooking as I do, necessitating the chopping of vegetables for soups and general preparation of other food you will find this board an absolute cracker that will last beyond the average midddle aged person's lifetime (well the bit remaining). Seriously, the board is big but will fit any standard worktop, (get out the tape measure to check size before ordering)and being double sided allows you to prepare meat on one side and vegetables on the other. Something I find important is that being wood it does not blunt the edge of my knives such as a glass chopping board would do.

I really like using large sturdy chopping boards as they protect your work surfaces from no end of damage and they give you plenty of room to chop and store vegetables as you work. This board was exactly what I was looking for. It is seriously large, you can get an idea by looking at the video review but if that is what you are after then you won't be disappointed with this one. It is the kind of board that you would probably end up leaving out on the work surface all of the time. It is too large and too heavy to keep lifting into a cupboard for storage between use. The finish on the board is second to none. You can see all of the beautiful detail of the individual pieces of wood but it has been sanded and sealed in such a way that when you run your hand over it, it feels like one solid piece of wood. I'm not sure if the board had been sealed before it arrived. It didn't seem like untreated wood so I guess it must have had some kind of treatment on it. However, it did feel like it had a fine powder coating from the wood when first handling it. I am sure that you could use it as it came without damaging it but I used Butchers Oil to seal mine as I wanted to ensure it would be fairly resistant to moisture, stains and odours. If you want a practical, hard wearing but beautiful looking board and you don't mind the size then this is definitely one to consider.
