Having heard most if not all the songs from Frank's forthcoming album 'Tape Deck Heart'either at a gig or via Youtube, i always assumed 'Four Simple Words' would be the first single. However it's a tad long and lyrically not very radio friendly but was still my favourite of all the new tracks. Much to my surprise Frank decided to give the song away as a free download on Christmas day so that put the end to that being the first single.
If anyone has listened to any of Frank's four previous albums and and the multitude of EP's & singles you'll have noticed that his songwriting has gone from strength to strength. To be able to give away a song of the calibre of 'Four Simple Words' is a testament to Frank's abilty to write one great tune after the other.

So here we have 'Recovery', a fine song that should see Frank hit new heights. From the opening acoustic vocal intro the melody is the first thing to catch you before the band (The Sleeping Souls)up the decibel level with the chorus. Throughout the song it switches from low to high tempo until it eventually builds to a rousing final verse. As i said the melody is one of those that will be in your head for weeks after hearing it, the piano solo is amazing.

So overall the 2 songs that have been officially released from 'Tape Deck Heart' have both been awesome so if this is just a taster of what's to come the new album should easily surpass the number 12 position on the UK album chart which 'England Keep My Bones' reached.
As always it's going to be another busy year for Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls and with songs of the quality of 'Recovery' it's easy to see why. Go buy it and be amazed.
