In this second edition, the reputability and popularity of the 1st ed. hold true but with added updates to incorporate new technologies not mentioned in the 1st. The language throughout is in the tone of an advanced oral historian speaking to general readers and to other advanced historians. Both approaches are in this book. All sentences are informative, but some speak to an audience with training. If you are looking for something entirely introductory to the field of history as a whole, a large portion of this work might seem inaccessible to you. The book itself is a goldmine of recommended reference books and published oral histories.
