This book got off to a really slow start. Haley and Jon had a bit too much indecisiveness between them regarding jumping the gun and starting a relationship. I think it took too long for them to make up there mind and move forward. This almost made me want to put the book down. I'd say half way through the book things finally started to pick up and I started to enjoy the book a bit. Overall the story was just OK, but not something I would recommend.

I feel first of all that this was one of the best hottie books that I have read so far, not saying there wasn't quite a bit of good ones but this was different.
The story is about the romance of Jon Ecklund who is a mixed race and Haley Feldon it started out for him, looking at her from afar, till finally after many weeks having a chance meeting. He was the CEO of his company and she worked for a non profit organization that helped different culture's in need for medical care, education etc. Haley is also of mixed race you have to read to find out both.
Both were attracted to each other, and both had a trunk load of baggage they have been carrying, but it was a different twist to their baggage especially his. The back and fourth tug of war was very interesting. But will love conquer all they had many obstacles to over come but the journey was well worth it.
I like the way the emotional focus was not all on the herione this time it showed to me a very human side to not just the hero but the other males in the story both on his side and the her's. I'm hoping there will be a sequel book for both Jon's brother and Haley's brother. It was a very good story that I enjoyed immensely. Gwynne Forster really set to me, the bar up very high for the continuing of this year's Hottie series. I recommend this book, I believe it is an enjoyable read. Kudos

Recklessly Immature Behavior

I really like this author and have always enjoyed her work. That said, the story of Jon and Haley felt stifled and weighed down by awkward dialogue and immature behavior. While they had both been burned by past love, their inability to deal with their emotions like modern day adults frustrated me. The fact that they both went to their parents to discuss the details of their sex life and emotional baggage left me confused (who does that?). I was ¾ into the book before I warmed up to Jon and Haley. The final ¼ of the story was good and moved at the pace the entire story should have.
Thank Goodness for the secondary characters (parents and siblings), they brought depth and charisma to the story. I enjoyed the mothers and siblings on both sides. They dished out sage advice and did not hold any punches. The scenes I enjoyed the most included the mothers and brothers telling Jon and Haley to get their act together. When they finally did at the end of the book, you could see the love they had for each other. An epilogue would have tied the story together nicely.
As a contemporary romance Reckless Seduction fell flat for me; not a story I am likely to re-read on a raining day.
