When first reading this biography I was intrigued to find out more about this man I had only heard of ,but not known much about him. I was absolutely spell bound by his career and his attempts to overcome the greatest of them all Eddie Mercx! The sadness of his failing health and his mental state in his last few years are testimony to what he put into his attempts to be the best.

A fascinating and inspiring read.Luis Ocana is much less well known than Eddy Merckx but richly deserves this book as he fought so long and hard to beat the Cannibal. It was simply not fair that he had so much bad luck in his life.He must have been a spectacular rider to watch but a nightmare to manage as he was so unpredictable and at times crazy.Ocana lived his life by his rules and died by them as well in sad circumstances
He was a hugely talented rider born in the wrong era I suppose
Buy it and read it you won't be disappointed!

Another excellent book by Alasdair Fotheringham. Full of detail, but not too weighty. It tells a story about a legend of the peloton, who has somehow been largely forgotten. His uncompromising approach to cycling and life in general may not have yeilded as much success as some of his peers but he did it anyway. The title sums up his approach rather well.
