Book Description

If you are tired of trying and failing to follow a fad diet, the Vegan 5:2 Diet may be just the thing you have been looking for.

Reducing your calorie intake for a period of days or weeks on end can be exhausting – both physically and mentally. Eventually you are going to get bored of eating nothing but low-calorie meals and watching your friends indulge in treats you once enjoyed. The beauty of the Vegan 5:2 Diet is that you can still enjoy your favorite foods AND lose weight doing it!!

The idea of intermittent fasting has been around for a long time and the benefits include:

  • Healthy weight loss and improved eating habits

  • Healthy weight loss and improved eating habits

  • Improved cardiovascular health

  • Regulated metabolism – reduced problems with overeating

  • Decreased risk for serious diseases (ex: cancer, diabetes, etc.)

  • Increased rate of fat loss (especially during fasting periods)
  • Reduced inflammation and lowered blood pressure

  • The Vegan 5:2 Diet was originally proposed as an alternative to the 5:2 Diet by Juliet Gellatley, founder of Viva! and an authority on vegan health and nutrition. Gellatley’s interest in the 5:2 Diet was first sparked when several of her friends shared their experience with the diet, claiming that it was much easier to follow than other diets due to the reduced restrictions and the ability to eat normally 5 days a week. As a vegan herself and a proponent of vegan health and nutrition, Gellatley set out to combine the 5:2 Diet with vegan eating principles and found the results to be very positive.

Now it's your turn to see the benefits and weight loss!

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor quality, not value for money. 5 Sept. 2014

Do judge this book by its cover; It looks like something a friend might have put together for you using Google in their lunch hour. The print on the bottom of the front cover is blurry, and the last sentence on the back incomplete. There are blank pages in the middle of chapters and worst of all, sample meal plan day 7 suggests vegan dieters have pasta with meat sauce. Definitely not worth the money. Save yourself your hard earned cash and buy a glossy well put together vegan cookbook probably for the same price! Very disappointing

1.0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK 27 Feb. 2015
    Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Absolutely awful book. I'm returning it ASAP. The pages have clearly just been printed off Word and stuck together. The recipes are terrible (fruit salad! I didn't need to spend £8 to be told how to chop up fruit!) and as others have said, it's not vegan as recipes include honey and meat sauce. Im so disappointed

Contains some nice low calorie recipes but many if them ask for honey & I don't think honey is vegan so the title is a little misleading, but nice to see some variety in plant based meals, these are low calorie so results will come quicker on a plant based diet which is healthier as well.

This is one of those diet books you have to share with your firends, whetehr you follow the 5:2 diet or not, the recipes are all vegan and super healthy. The sample meal plans are great and take out all the guess work and hassle of choosing what to cook on fast and non fast days. Take your pick, lots to choose from. Thank you
