Product Description

Review

'Richard Ehrlich is an award-winning food writer and columnist, and with 80 recipes, you can't fail to find something you like. There's also plenty of technical information, with basic principles and techniques for beginners, and more skilled recipes for dab hands.' --BBC Food Magazine

Product Description

Today's most popular diet trends emphases the importance of 'real food' as opposed to highly-processed foods filled with unnatural ingredients. And no matter how many 'low-carb' diets advocate limiting bread consumption, bread remains the most popular staple food worldwide. Store-bought breads are generally full of preservatives and fresh bread from a bakery remains beyond many consumers' daily budgets. Breadmakers allow home cooks to make fresh, additive-free breads while saving time and money. Richard Ehrlich provides an excellent guide to breadmakers complete with a variety of delicious recipes exemplifying the often over-looked potential of this kitchen appliance.

A well written book, full of tempting and easy-to-follow recipes. If you're a hummus lover like me, the recipe on page 78 will certainly appeal. However, if you don't want it to turn out like a housebrick, I'd add at least a teaspoon of fast-acting yeast!

I originally brought this as a wedding present for my brother and liked the look of all the recipes in it that I kept it for myself!
I have made the chocolate chip cake in the breadmaker and initially i was disappointed when it come out of the breadmaker. However it tasted delicious. I had made it for a coffee morning for me and some other mums and they all loved it too.
I am looking forward to making lots of bread in the colder months to go with my soup.
