Product Description

A comprehensive diet resource for women with Endometriosis with over 250 recipes - all researched and compiled to provide a safe and healing diet to help alleviate the symptoms of endometriosis. This is the second edition of the book, and to date there has been lots of very positive feedback from women who have followed the recipe suggestions in this book. Some women have even managed to be totally symptom free and have been able to return to normal activities in life, as well as the added benefit of loosing weight. The purpose of the endometriosis diet is to relieve or even prevent some of the disabling symptoms that occur with menstruation, as well as the general pain of endometriosis. The diet also aims to decrease estrogen levels, stabilize hormones, increase energy levels, reduce inflammation and alleviate painful cramps. This book is full of tasty recipe ideas to help provide you with a safe and healing diet.

From the Author

Changing your diet to deal with Endometriosis is an excellent foundation to assist you in reducing the symptoms, and will help regenerate your health.

When you change your diet there will be many changes in the foods you can and cannot eat, especially if you are to reap the benefits.

THESE MAIN FOODS ARE: --

-- wheat - this includes breads, cakes and pasta products, all based on wheat
-- refined and concentrated carbohydrates
-- refined sugars and honey - causes inflammatory reaction
-- alcohol
-- caffeine which is found in tea, coffee, soft drinks -increases abdominal cramps
-- chocolate
-- dairy produce including all milk and cheese - inflammatory
-- fried food, margarine and hydrogenated fats
-- soy products and soy protein - tamari can be used in small amounts
-- tinned and frozen packaged foods as little as possible
-- additives and preservatives

`Recipes for the Endometriosis Diet' has been researched and written to provide a safe and healing diet.

The recipes in the book include: -

-- cold drinks
-- hot drinks
-- healing drinks
-- soups
-- vegetable dishes
-- main dishes
-- spicy dishes
-- pasta dishes
-- sweets and puddings - yes you read that right!
-- baking and breads
-- pie crusts and crumble mixes
-- sauces, dressings and dips
-- spreads and dips for sandwiches/toast or parties
-- a few recipes using larger quantities suitable for catering

All customized for a diet for Endometriosis.

I also anticipate that the recipes in the book will give you ideas and guidelines of how to adapt your own favourite recipes, without jeopardizing your diet regime for Endometriosis.

It covers everything you need for all your diet needs to ensure you are eating a safe diet which will help reduce your symptoms.

The feed-back from other women who have followed the diet and used these recipes is VERY positive. Many of them have seen a huge reduction in their symptoms within a few weeks.

With healing thoughts
Carolyn Levett

An excellent book and women with endo should have a copy in their kitchen. The change in diet has definitely helped reduce my symptoms of endometriosis. I used to have terrible pain for most of the month with lots of bloating and I always felt tired.

I now have much more energy, much less pain, and I feel I have now sorted out my problem with irritable bowel as well.

The recipes in this book are easy to follow and considering how many everyday ingredients have to be left out, these recipes cover all you need from soups to sweets, drinks and even alternatives to things like milk, butter and eggs for use in cooking.

I did slip from the diet for a week and boy did I notice the difference. I was back to eating dairy and the old pains returned and I forgot how sluggish I used to feel, and how much pain I would get soon after eating.

I will be sticking with this diet as I have now proved to myself how much it has help and I can thoroughly recommend this book to other women who are suffering with their endometriosis and have found no help with the medications or pain killers.

I have had severe endometriosis for over 6 years and have had severe pain and many other distressing symptoms that are common with this disease. After trying different drug treatments and many painkillers I had given up hope of ever getting well again or any relief from the pain.

BUT, I have been using the recipes in this book and have found to my delight that I have much less pain, less bloating, and I also have more energy as well. I have also been able to loose the weight I gained from using the drug treatments. I love the recipes in this book and they are not hard to follow at all. I found that once I had done a sensible re-stock of basics for my food cupboard then the rest was the usual day to day shopping for fresh foods.

I really rate this book most highly as it has helped me to get the right diet without doing lots of technical research. I highly recommend this book for any women with endometriosis - a must have for the kitchen.

Endo diet 6 Feb 2011
Format:Paperback
I turned to this book in desperation, having exhausted all other treatment avenues. Most of the recipes are nice and not too dissimilar from 'normal' food. One or two have not turned out quite as expected. Measurements are given in US cups. Worth trying, but you need to be prepared to invest the time finding the ingredients.
