1.0 out of 5 stars What.............?????? 10 July 2012
Format:Mass Market Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
After reading Taming the wolf , l rushed to find everything about this series and l pretty much bought them all and a few others ....so my expectations were pretty high but boy was l dissapointed......firstly this heroine may have the dubious honour of being one of the most unlikable chararacters I've ever read ....Firstly she cheated on her boyfriend , picked up a man she just met , took him home , kissed...she did stop the encounter ...BUT she had boyfriend the whole time she did all this , she spoke to him and lied ...talked to him like he was a dog ....Got angry and bitter at the drop of a dime ...she had MAJOR attitude....

She was sooooo rude to michael that l found it hard to believe that he would offered her the opportunity let alone apologise ...since this happened in the beginning of the book l must admit it soured my view of Resse....

Micheal was a little to submissive and wimpy for me and that was a turnoff and considering the fact that his own mother cheated , l would have expected him to have major issues with the fact that he was sleeping with a woman in a relationship. It was just a messy novel that had the biggest NO for me cheating is not cool regardless weather it's a man or woman.....

So was there anything good with this novel YES , l still maintain that she is my new Fav author and l will read every book she has written and will write but this one missed the mark.....

Man , Victor deserved better...o...this woman had no remorse at all....def no HEA with these two.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read. I enjoyed it : ) 19 Dec 2011

Format:Mass Market Paperback
I am quite surprised there are no UK reviews for this book because it is a lovely one.

I recently started getting more into Kimani Romance books as they are very classic, interesting, romantic and more of what I enjoy reading. This book is just that and I really liked it because it was funny, very romantic and just an overall great book. Michael and Reese had amazing chemistry and it was one of those books that truly makes you feel like you would want to experience what they have. There were maybe one or two parts I thought were unrealistic but honestly, this is fiction and you can do anything with it so I was not too concerned about that. I also thought the love-making scenes were a little repetitive but I still thought it was creative.

Overall, I don't feel there is much to say as thought it was well-written, the characters and scenes were very well-developed and described, and I was locked the whole way through. I read this in about 24 hours, which is pretty good for me because I tend to get bored easily with many books.

I would recommend this book and I will be reading more from the author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hot, hot, hot........ 19 Dec 2010

This is the first book I read from Maureen Smith and boy did I enjoy it! The book was well written, characters were well developed, good balance between romance and steamy scenes! I was blushing and smiling several times throughout the book! Story is about Reese who is a doctor from Houston. She takes a 2 month sabatical from her job and goes to Atlanta. While in Atlanta, she decides to go eat at this renown restaurant owned by celebrity chef Michael Wolf. Reese has always been a fan of Michael, ever since he launched his first cook book, plus he was a hottie. When she arrives at the restaurant, she is treated very well. During her meal, Michael walks in and starts mingling with his guest until he spots her. He is completely mesmerized by her so he goes over and starts flirting with her. Reese is starstruck and cannot believe Michael is flirting with her. Michael immediately makes his interest known. That night, he kisses her and she is completely attracted to him, eventhough she has a boyfriend back home. She realizes that and decides to stop their passionate kiss. Michael thought she was impersonating a restaurant reviewer to get to him, so he treats her badly. He leaves and finds out everything was a misunderstanding and Reese was who she said she was. Reese was so upset that when she found out she won a contest to be on Michael's show, she wanted nothing but revenge.

They begin to know each other fot the sake of the show and the more time they spent together getting to know each other, the more they like each other; making it impossible to fight their attraction. They finally stop fighting their attraction and become involved. Boy, their affair was romantic and steamy hot, but tastefully done! Could they both risk everything and take a chance on each other? Could their relationship overcome all the obstacles?

You will not regret reading this book. The plot was fantastic, lots of secondary characters that added to the story and the romance was to die for! Cannot wait to read more from Maureen.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wish I could Howl! 14 May 2010
By Linda Y - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
OB/GYN Reese St. James comes to Atlanta for some R&R after losing one of her pt's and dines in the restaurant of her crush, celebrity chef Michael Wolf. There's spark from the first meeting until Michael finds out that Reese isn't the food critic he'd been expecting, not to mention the boyfriend that she didn't mention and treats her horribly. Michael wants nothing to do with her but she has won the apprentice spot on his show "Howlin Good" and they are unable to control their shared attraction. Michael and Reese have amazing chemistry that will leave you satisfied along with a possible romance for Michael's father Sterling whom we wanted much happiness for from "Taming the Wolf". Well written, quick read.
