Product Description

In a nation ruled by a brutal autocracy, what could a young Princess do against overwhelming power?

"I know of your love for your people, Princess Mika, peasants and nobles alike, and your love for your nation. When the time comes, you will use your love to free the people from tyranny and oppression."

After a traumatic attempt on her life by peasants who were involved in a politically motivated attack on the Nobility at the supposedly safe haven that was the Scarletia Royal Castle, these unforgettable words, whispered to her by the Supreme Captain of the Royal Army of Melodice, Terren Rinaldia, struck a chord with Mika Silveraine. Armed with a strong sense of right and wrong, genius-level intelligence, and the power of magic, she is forced to cast aside her childish innocence as she is faced with the truth about her world, one that is not as peaceful and harmonious as she had been led to believe by the Royal Family and the Nobility. In just one moment, her entire life was turned upside down.

The Peasantry, a great majority of the nation’s population, have suffered under the heavy hand of the corrupted highborn for over a century. It is now time for this suffering to end, but the road to freedom is often paved by violence and blood. However, Mika will soon learn that, in order to bring about change, terrible sacrifices must be made… sacrifices no child should ever have to make.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great find!! 23 Mar 2014

I loved this book. I could not put it down. I am breathlessly waiting for the next book to come out so I may find out what happens next to Princess Mika.

The story telling is wonderful and very vivid. I could see everything that was happening in the story in my minds eye. You can not but help to root for the sweet Princess. I enjoyed the way Mika grew into herself and became stronger as the book went on.

I really think that anyone would enjoy this book.
5.0 out of 5 stars The Perfect Mix of Fantasy Styles 12 Mar 2014

To be short, yes, you should buy this book. Fully recommend it. It's superb and if I could, I would chain the author to his desk and force him to hand me the next story as soon as a page is finished. Sadly, I cannot (since I'd rather not serve prison time) but hopefully review can get more people to join on the eagerly awaiting the second book side.

I love fantasy books. I love the detail given to all the different characters, I love the attention to setting and creating a world that is different and similar to our own. And often there seems to be two styles of fantasy books, one where the book takes a great attention to world building (often at the expense of pacing and can turn monotonous) and the second where the characters and actions are more emphasized - but the world is still left undeveloped.

The Rebellion of the Princess was a perfect mix of these two styles that I found perfect because while I enjoy both styles, sometimes the little world building grows old and the more detailed world building takes to long to read.

But above this small matter, the characters of this book are intriguing and their actions make sense within the characters, they have conflicted loyalties, and most importantly, there is consequences for actions (which not enough authors seem to do).

I'm sorry if this review isn't convincing enough for you to pick up the book (since you're just cheating yourself), but, well, it's the least I can do since the story is so well constructed and written.
