Product Description

Review

"Matthew Inman is the Gary Larson of the Internet age." (Ken Wheaton, Advertising Age)

"If Inman isn't a king of the Internet, he's certainly among its royalty. The Oatmeal is one of the most popular humor sites on the web." (Todd Leopold, CNN)

"In 2009, Inman put his hand to the page, and the world hasn't stopped laughing since." (Nick Carbone, Time)

"Dangerously funny." (TODAY.com)

"Delightfully absurd musings on both everyday life and fantasy from an unusually creative mind." (Kirkus Reviews)

A very humorous book for dipping in and out of when you want a chuckle. Has a wide range of wierd articles including 'how to use an aspostrophe', 'how to track, hunt and kill a unicorn', 'why it would suck to live next door to a volcano' and '8 ways to prepare your pets for war'. The titles pretty much sum up the type of humour throughout the book! The actual cartoons themselves are no more than doodles, but its the funny jokes that accompany them which really make you chuckle. Well worth a read.

Did you ever want a reason for punching a dolphin? Perhaps you wanted a canadian friend and couldn't justify it? Or did you wonder why it is better to have a rabid passenger than a baby on board a plane?

All thes philosophical questions and many more are answered in this book which brings a new angle to the world we live in. There are good tips on how to catch a unicorn too. Seriously a very funny book and if this is your kind of borderline not-PC humour, then you will enjoy this

Many people will be familiar with the oatmeal website so there's nothing overly new in terms of a lot of the content and the style and delivery.

But the printed book is a thing of beauty. It's printed in high quality in brilliant colours. The design just leaps out of the page in a way the website didn't do it justice.

You can open the book at random at any page and it is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. One of those books that deserves that special place on your coffee table in full view of guests who will appreciate you are a person of fine taste.

It's the perfect pick-me-up first thing in the morning, guaranteed to put a smile on your face. A lunchtime read to get you over the midday lull, and a great bedside companion... you'll be the most cheery person in the world and will never look at things in the same way again.

I came across the Oatmeal whilst researching the correct way to use a semi-colon. Yes, really, and spent the next six hours giggling and crackling at the comic. In addition to the laughs, it does have interesting facts and trivia (for example, the 'Americano' is named after how the American GI's liked coffee when they were stationed in Italy, because the Italian expresso was too strong for the yanks). They also have interesting titbits about coffee and why it gives you a buzz. In addition, the art is clean, and engaging, the font style is crisp and clear, the book is so well presented (should be, given the guy's background in webdesign and graphics). It's a good book just to have, and it will never not be funny.

I bought this book on the 12th December and arrived today the 15th, I am very pleased with the service the Amazon have provided and the package arrived earlier than expected, very happy with this.

The book is great, the comic about families and your knowledge of computers was one of my many favourites, as I related to it quite well. Very good purchase, good delivery service.

10/10 For everything, thanks Amazon.

I admit that you should be used to the kind of humor that populates the Internet to fully enjoy this book, but all in all, it's hilarious. The author does a very sarcastic, ironic and surreal work and you willd find yourself laughing alone while you are reading it. As always with this kind of comic-books, its reading will only occupy you just a few hours, even one, but it's worth the price.
