3.0 out of 5 stars Has lots of potential 21 Mar. 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
*I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.*

Jennifer Stewart moved to Gunnison for a fresh start. Little did she know in four short weeks her life would be turned upside down, for better and for worse. Jenn wanted the quiet life, to work at the local newspaper and make new friends. Attracting a serial killer, the local Sheriff and just about every man in the county was not on her agenda but her smart mouth and sharp wit had everyone sitting up and paying attention. I immediately liked Jenn’s character she was tenacious and witty, a girl after my own heart.

Now Jack Gunnison was a sexy, older Alpha character, being the Sheriff was an added bonus. He connected with Jenn right away. Her stubbornness paired with his bossiness made for some fun scenes. I loved the way in which he was so protective of Jenn, and although the independent woman in me should have been cursing him, I couldn’t help but melt every time he took control of the situation and tried his very best to control Jenn, which he soon realised was an impossible feat.

Jack and Jenn were great together. I loved their banter and even though their personalities clashed, they were perfect for each other. I really liked that they were both two strong characters. Their arguments due to both of their stubbornness were comical at times. My only issue of their relationship was the quickness of it. I'm not a great fan of instalove and Jack and Jenn moved at breakneck speed. The bulk of the story spanned over four weeks and that wasn't a lot of time for all that went down.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant fantastic read 21 Jan. 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
This book has blown me away after finally wiping my tears I can write a review. Brilliantly written this author is a genius

It's perfectly balanced with one hot ass alpha male, romance, crime/thriller and suspense, the banter between jack and jenn is perfect and jenns stubborn against jacks bossy makes for the perfect couple and makes a refreshing change to the usual simpering fall at the feet leading females in some books

Read this ladies I promise you'll be in love with jack as much as me less then half way through, and wanna be just like jenn

3.0 out of 5 stars 3 - 3.5 stars for Jack 15 Mar. 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I liked it fine - but a lot of the time it was so like KAs books that I thought to myself why am I just not re reading a KA book which would be far better. I had no problem with the homage idea but sometimes it was like a transcript.

Jack was cool though - I would read this author again but next time I hope its a more original piece

3.0 out of 5 stars 3 stars for Jack & Jenn 3 Feb. 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Ok, I have some problems with this book. There were parts that I thought worked really well, but there were a lot that didn’t, and unfortunately, the negatives kinda ruined it for me.

3 STARS FOR JACK & JENN

'A Reason To Breathe' is the story of thirty-nine year old widow, Jennifer Stewart. When her husband dies, she moves out to Colorado to fulfil a childhood dream of living in the mountains. Her job as a journalist leads her to meet Sheriff Jack Gunnison at a murder scene.
Long-story-short, it’s insta-lust/love, and both the search a whirlwind relationship and the for a serial killer begin.

“Jesus, what are you doing to me?” He whispered.
“Nothing,” I gasped, when his tongue circled my ear.
“Baby, if that’s nothing, you’re gonna kill me when it means something.”

Ok, let’s do this methodically. What did I like?
- I liked Jack.
– I liked the plot twists.
– I liked the steamy sex.
– I liked the idea.

Now, what did I not like?
- I didn’t like the slew of appalling grammatical errors.
– I didn’t like that this was basically a cheap copy of a Kristen Ashley book.
– I didn’t like that Jenn acted 19 instead of 39. And I didn’t like how irresponsible andstupid she was at times.

So, yeh, as I said, I liked Jack. I just have to mention, I loved the surname Gunnison. I don’t know, I just found that really super sexy. So that worked for me.

“If Jack Gunnison were pursuing me, I’d walk slow.”

Jack is totally alpha male. In fact, he’s a little pathetically alpha, in all honesty. Like, Jack and Jenn have known each other for one day and he’s ready to knock out all other men in the town for just looking at her.

5.0 out of 5 stars A reason to breathe 2 Feb. 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
I liked the write up for this book and I wasn't disappointed. Jennifer - the central character was strong and funny & I was pleased she was a slightly older female than a lot of this genre. Jack is a very HOT very alpha male and the chemistry between the two is brilliantly written & very steamy. The story is good and the characters believable. I will definitely be reading more of this author.
