Really enjoyed this story, but I felt there was something missing from the author when telling the tale. She never described the female character, only that she was five foot four, there wasn't much depth too the characters, but I wanted to stick with the story. I liked horse, Marie was a little annoying at times, and saying okay all the time to horse got really annoying. Having said that I know sometimes it takes reading the second book in the series for things start to get better. I just downloaded the second book and it's way more descriptive, giving character detail and story background. It might help that the second book isn't published under eloras cave. Here's hoping this series gets better.

14.7.14, update, started reading book two, ruger and Sophie's story, on 34% on my kindle, wow it's good. More character development, couple aren't just throwing themselves at each other and having sex sex sex all the time, I'm sure that's to come, as the attraction and tension is building. I don't mind hot sex in books, but I have to feel something for the characters. It's def worth reading the first book just to get to this one. Joanna Wilde is building a very good reaper mc story. Will def follow this series now.

BOOK REVIEW: Reapers Property (MC,#1) - Joanna Wylde

..."We're men - one percenters. F- kings of the MC world. We don't follow rules, we make our own G-dam-n rules."

Whoa! I just took a very hot ride at break-neck speed. The Reapers revved my engine at full throttle and blew my pistons to smithereens, but Holy Hot Pipes, what a rush...!

Horse what have you done to me? With a name like that, come on... all bad analogies and clichés be damned, but regardless of a name... a road name no less, this book has just rekindled my love of bad-A bikers. Yes, okay I admit it, I'm a Sons of Anarchy fan and I loved Madeline Sheehan's book `Undeniable', and felt the need to jump back on the `Old Lady' train (or two wheeled demon), and hit up another biker territory - the Reapers MC of Idaho did NOT disappoint.

Marie Jensen has not had it easy. Raised in a dilapidated trailer in the middle of nowhere, with just her Mother and Brother for company, she found an early escape into the arms of the high-school football quarterback, Gary. Marrying too young, their dreams and prospects of a career were short-lived when reality hit hard, manifesting into one of minimum wage jobs and a hefty mortgage. Gary hit the booze and made his frustrations known by using his fist.

Her Mother is in jail for assaulting a cop, so Marie's only saving grace and place of refuge is with her Brother, Jeff, back at the trailer where she spent her childhood, two hours away from her now broken home.

Jeff is a computer whiz kid, but keeps his affairs private. All Marie knows is that he works at his own pace, in his own time and is more than happy to fill in the gaps with smoking pot and a chilled disposition.

Loved this book.

Horse(as in hung like a), is a completely dominant, aggressive, panty slaying alpha male biker dude, (fans herself at this point). He and a couple of members of the Reaper's MC drive to Jeff's trailer, Jeff is a brilliant computer programmer and is doing some 'stuff' for the club involving money wiring. When the gang ride up there is a gorgeous bikini clad naked chick laid out on the picnic bench offering herself up like a sun sacrifice.

Jeff's sister Marie is so thankful to her brother for letting her stay with him at his trailer. She had to leave her husband Gary who is abusive and although the trailer isn't a des res she feels safe, safe enough to relax and sunbathe out on the picnic table, safe.........until a load of biker's arrive to see Jeff.

Horse immediately takes a shine to Marie and she to him, but these boys live by their own code, in a lifestyle she is unaware of.....they stay a while and although repulsed by Horse's arrogance and dominance, it also sets Marie on fire. She's confused by Horse's niceness one minute and then aggressiveness the next and refuses him when he offer's her an 'arrangement'.

Jeff is cheating the club by skimming money off the transfers he is arranging, when they find out they decide he must pay in blood, Horse manages to keep him alive by arranging a deal, Marie must come to live with him as his 'house mouse', doing whatever he wants, when he wants it. She immediately agrees to save her brother and herein starts her introduction to an MC Club and all it entails including violence, the 'sweet buts' who are available for the Club men and being at the beck and call of one pissed off but extremely sexy bike dude who just has a thing for Marie.

Phew, fans on, lights dimmed and read this book!!!

I liked the character development especially of Horse. He was a tough biker who was offensive a lot of the time and used to getting what he wanted because of being in the club but it was nice to see the other side of him which was kind and sweet. The fact that he was movie star gorgeous didn't hurt either.

I didn't like Marie so much. She didn't know anything about MC life but made up her mind that is was all bad without getting facts first. One of her stunts that really bugged me was when she went back to her house alone to get stuff when she knew it was very possible that her abusive ex may find her there. Then she stood daydreaming while looking at her wedding picture. That was so dumb of her. She should never have gone there and then, once there, she should have hurried in and out - not stood around daydreaming. This was very unbelievable and made it hard for me to get back into the story.

I liked that badass Horse was so attracted to Marie but having an erection almost all the time got boring. The story was good and the writing nice and smooth making it easy to feel part of the motorcycle club life.
