Product Description

Will the Reapers bring peace and stability to the World?

The world is suffering from the effects of out-of-control terrorism. Governments are spending huge amounts of precious capital for the safety and security of air and rail transportation as well as inspections at all sea ports. The global economic effect is crippling; countries struggle to manage commerce, international trade, business growth, job creation and tourism. The world’s economy is on the brink of collapse.

The Global Defense Organization (GDO) has been created to be a cost effective multinational elite group that monitors, infiltrates and eliminates terrorist activities within all supporting countries. Known only as Reaper Two-Six, this secret 48 member squadron has quickly earned a reputation for precisely eliminating terrorist threats, in the air and on the ground.

Why did China and Columbia oppose the creation of the GDO? Are they connected to global terrorist cells? Are they secretly financing the sale of weapons?

The Reaper’s greatest challenge is now upon them; infiltrate China and Columbia to discover their real intentions. Through a series of electrifying and heart-stopping missions, see how the Reapers use their skills and advanced technology to put fear back where it belongs; in the minds of the terrorists, not in the minds of its citizens.

About the Author

Robert’s inspiration for the Reaper Two-Six™ series of novels came from his first love - flying. From a young age, airplanes had secured a special place in his heart. After high school, Robert attended The University of Texas at Austin and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering in 1988. Even though working on exciting F-15 projects at McDonnell Douglas was very rewarding, his heart still ached for the thrill and passion of piloting an aircraft. Finally, his dream came true when he earned a private pilots' license, giving him the pure enjoyment of commanding a Grumman Tiger Aircraft. During his 25 years in engineering, Robert worked for a number of aeronautical companies: McDonnell Douglas, Cirrus Design, NASA, Eaton and Pratt & Whitney. Supporting programs like the advanced F-15 design and testing, Space Shuttle flight path evaluation, ST-50 proof-of-concept design and testing, and jet engine overhaul and repair, Robert always loved seeing the fruits of his labor take to the skies. As life in southeast Michigan changed, Robert took upon new career challenges; applying his diverse engineering background in the automotive industry. He spent the past 12 years involved with the design, development and testing of steering systems. Robert grew up within walking distance of Michigan stadium and loved to hear the roar of the crowd on football Saturdays. Even though life took him in different directions for college, Robert is still a big University of Michigan fan, with football and basketball being his favorite sports to watch. During his spare time, Robert enjoys gaming on his PC or PS3 along with website and Android App programming. Robert resides in South Lyon, Michigan with his beloved Carol and their Italian Greyhound dog Sofie. Both Robert and Carol enjoy watching Blu-ray movies in their home theater while relaxing in stadium-style seating and eating freshly made old-fashioned popcorn. Some of Robert's favorite movies include: The Hunt for Red October, Star Wars series, Star Trek Series, Top Gun, Aliens, Love Actually, Indiana Jones series and Contact. Robert Grand's novel; Reaper Two-Six: Rise of Global Insurgency is a fun, well researched, and an entertaining read. He includes very precise and specific detail that only pilots and aviation enthusiasts can enjoy.
He goes into great detail about specific aircraft, characters, and fictional military operations which allows the reader to almost fall in to the story and become a part of it.
I am looking forward to more!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent work 12 Sep 2011
By J. Adcock - Published on Amazon.com

I know how much effort has gone into the production of this book and considering the author has no prior literary experience, to write and produce this book is nothing short of a gargantuan task and hats off to the him, Robert has done it style and passion, writing about a subject has feels strongly about and is very knowledgeable.

The action scenes are gripping and well written. Charcters are extremely well defined and the narrative structure is very thoughtfully presented. the best praise I can give is that some of the tecnhology description chapters made me feel like I was reading a Dan Brown novel.

Is this the best book in the world? - no. But I advise anyone to give it chance as I know they will enjoy this well written book. Trust me. A huge round of applause to the author.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good toilet book 1 Sep 2011

Lets be honest, with a name like Reaper Two-Six, we ain't looking at War and Peace here. That isn't necessarily a bad thing...

From the start, you're flung into the thick of things, covering a bombing run to free some of the trapped Reapers (as their called) after they've been captured. Doing what, only the author knows, but you know it wasn't just selling cookies. The action just gets better and better, and while it may have went for a Michael Bay "*BOOOM* Big Explosions! One line of dialogue MORE EXPLOSIONS the end" style, it works for the book. If anything, it reads like an Ace Combat game or even some of the Tom Clancy's, an obvious inspiration for the series.

It's a good read, it doesn't ask much of you apart from just having a drink at the side of where you're reading it from.

There may be some suggesting that you don't get much character development but who cares? I'd rather read about Scorch shooting down 5 planes rather than hearing his remorse at even thinking of pulling the trigger. All you ned to know is that they get along with each other, repect their work and have a kick ass time doing it. It's brilliant placing people in that you know of as each callsign (Olga Kurylenko for the character Doc in a movie version, perhaps?). It's a trick that Colin Bateman has pulled off a few times, and it works here to great effect.

My only criticism is about an incident in the book (which I don't want to mention for fear of spoilers) but didn't one of the type get shot down by the Yugoslavians? I'm not sure though so don't quote me on that!

All in all, a good read, great price, and here's hoping it kicks off a continuing series!
