Ignore the previous (one star) review. This book is an engaging and informative analysis of reality television in contemporary culture. It is accessible, well-written and very insightful--I highly recommend it for undergraduate and graduate courses!

Encouraging Professors to assign this text would be a mistake. Just compare it to "Reality TV: An Insider's Guide to TV's Hottest Market". "Reality TV: An Insider's Guide to TV's Hottest Market" is written much better. Just use the "Look Inside" button to compare.

Reality TV has been around just as long as we have been filming. This book acts as if it explains some great new thing. I feel that a lot of this book came from varies Wikipedia pages.
