Product Description

Due to its raw vibrancy Rockabilly has often been called upon by several artists in the more recent years to add vitality to their music. It may have slipped under the radar of many mainstream music fans, but there is no doubt that the music these 1950s pioneers made remains more than recognisable today. The words didn't always make sense, but the music was the message and it was aimed straight at the feet. So get your cat clothes on, brush up your blue suede shoes and rock!

Get it today. Don't leave it in the racks. Not at that price!
This is an absolutely essential introduction to a genre that is all but forgotten.
Ever wonder where the Stray Cats or Robert Gordon learned their trade?
Well, it's all here.
Rockabilly at its best.

Volunteer to do the weekly shop. Open car. Wind down windows and remove roof (with bolt cutters if necessary). Recline your seat to slouching level, smooth back whatever hair you have left, set the stereo (mono. if you've want the authentic sound!) volume to Ear Splitting mode and take the long way to and from the shops. It's the only way to savour this gem of an album.

You may have all these tracks already. But they won't be in a single place. Spend a measly few quid and grab yourself an absolute bargain!

Yes, there are a couple of tracks I don't rate much; but that's personal taste, not a criticism of the compilers. Yes, purists will complain that a couple of those on the bill aren't 'real rockabilly'. Perhaps. Depends what definition you use. If, like me, you've always been a fan of the rockabilly groove, you'll rely on the sound, not the personal pedigree.

Whatever, don't miss this cracking album.

Unless you have no idea what rockabilly is then you won't be disappointed with this albumn. In summary it's a good collection of foot tappin' rockabilly tunes that will serve to either enhance your collection or if you are exploring new musical avenues it will set you off nicely. There's a good mixture of some rockabilly classics and arguably lesser known tunes. That said it's not one of those albumns where you feel you want to keep flicking to the next song. This hasn't been padded out with dross and personnally I like nearly all the songs even if I do still have my favorites. You won't go far wrong with this and you get a lot of tunes for your wonga. Get rockin' you crazy cats.

if you like proper rock and roll of all shades or even just Rockabilly, this is a nicely distilled collection of songs you'll know and others out of the blue. All are enjoyable with fun lyrics in a lot of them. I liked it a lot.

This is a comprehensive 2 cd set that will give you a great range of rockabilly tracks, perfect for people who are a perhaps trying to fill gaps in their collection (I may not be able to buy every legendary rockabilly track out there but I will try!) That said I'd strongly recommend this to those who are just getting into the music having bought this for my nephew who has started to enjoy listening to early Elvis (more and more people seem to discover rockabilly everyday and are appreciating the reach of its influence on more modern performers) The cover art is strong which is what I have come to expect from Not Now Music. Bargain.
