Great concept. Bad delivery, 12 Mar 2001

The idea is great and some of the results are good but the route to get them is torurous and frustrating. Running the software on a PC with more than the minimum operating resources it crashes on average every 20/30 minutes. Many of the functions are inconsistemt - they work for a while, then stop, then start to work again. Some of the functions have never worked. The handbook that comes with it is extremely patronising and adds little or no value to the product. The handbook also talks of settings and functions that are not available. If you are prepared to persevere and not too bothered about wasing time then this is an acceptable product however I wouldn't recommend it.

Not bad at all..., 20 Jan 2002

I found this software to be quite easy to use and intuitive - I'm used to working with software but don't feel that this was important... The designer takes a bit of practise to get the most out of it (has a few quirks in the design process that can be worked around) but will produce some excellent results. Haven't tried alternative products so can't compare to what else may be available! Ran the software on a Pentium 3 1000 Mhz Win 2000 PC with no problems. Have found the odd idiosyncrasy that other reviewers have mentioned, but found that this was usually due to me doing something that the software didn't like. Learned to avoid these situations pretty easily (don't put a chair through a wall, etc.!)Didn't get the free paintbrush others seem to refer to - but suspect that the manual was more use! I'd reccommend this... but takes a bit of practise to be used to the full.

Lasted 2 Days in Our House - Your Results May Vary, 14 Dec 2001

First of all, our package did NOT contain a printed manual. It did include a 1" nylon paintbrush - whoop-di-doo. That's just the kind of "cutesey" element that whispers, "You are an idiot" - and then the software goes on to prove it!
Hubby and I both found the program VERY counterintuitive (and he does computer stuff for a living, so you can't blame it ALL on consumer ignorance). We each managed to drag and drop prefab rooms around the screen and place them next to each other, but we both gave up before we could figure out how to get them connected in any satisfactory fashion. Measurements were all metric and I couldn't figure out how to convert to/from feet/inches, or whether that was even possible. The "help" function wasn't helpful, and by the time I accidentally stumbled onto the "tutorial" section I was already BEYOND fed up. So, back to the software store it went, nylon paintbrush and all. :P
We traded up to Floorplan 3D by IMSI and, one day later, we're already much more comfortable with it.
