Love this book to bits. Visit the City of Bath quite regularly and am always impressed by the old fashioned pubs & real ales produced locally by micro breweries, however wished there were a similar situation back home in Wales. This book sheds light on that and is a fascinating guide into Welsh pubs set against a backdrop of their long & colourful history.

Yes, we have drovers inns & coaching inns, Georgian Victorian & Medeival inns, guildhalls, crypts, towers & city walls - in fact a whole spectrum of different and varied pub styles, all of which are Cadw listed Grade I or II buildings. All reviewed serve real ale, cask ale & cider (not forgetiing this is a CAMRA publication). Some of which pubs have quirky features like ship memrobilia, boxing memrobilia, world bog snorkelling memrobilia etc.

The books lists the pubs in county order and the guide part is supplemented by feature articles like for example on real ale breweries, snooker tables, oldest pub etc.

In all this is an invaluable social history guide to Wales and has got me exploring the countryside in search of the ultimate boozer & pint in Wales !
