Great advice 28 Jan 2012
By Jodi-Hummingbird TOP 1000 REVIEWER
Format:Paperback
I agree very much with the conclusions about diet reached by the author of this book.

Parts of the book were very good and made many excellent points.

I could have done without all the personal acecdotes about the authors early life on a farm and personal dietary changes etc. and more information and actual research, but that is just a personal preference and probably many people would enjoy such meanderings and the chatty tone of this book!

I preferred 'Eat Fat, Lose Fat' and 'Deep Nutrition' but this book is still a useful addition to the real food book genre.

In a nutshell, eat real food! It is as simple as that.

The evidence seems to be mounting on all fronts that our diet is responsible for most of the ailments in our modern "society", such as it is. Whilst this particular book lacks depth in places it is an excellent introduction to the subject of nutrition and definitely encourages further study. Additionally, the author is someone who has seen nutrition from an normal and a "healthy" point of view and thus is not totally ignorant of the effects of modern fad diets. After researching cancer for many months and having arrived at the conclusion that it too (among other things) is a result of a dietary deficiency, a fact well known and in fact encouraged and where possible enforced by law by the US FDA and others, I find the implications for the future state of human health worrying in light of the direction our collective diet has taken over recent years.

This is a good starting point to a road back to a healthy diet. Recommended.

In reading this, you have decided to be a choosy person where food is conserning you and possibly your family. It will probably startle some! Read on and be patient, read it again and become a more understanding person in reagrd to foods that most eat without thinking about why? and How? it will effect your persona? In taking a step towards a better understanding of what you eat, you will find in this book that you can become a healthier, fitter person, by using what we have naturally before us and not running towards the nearest 'pop it in the micro-wave' reaady meal. Ready for what? Today is the next day in the rest of your life, treat it as you would hope to be treated and all will end as it started - in good harmony.
