5.0 out of 5 stars Ready for this? Hell yeah! 20 Dec 2009

Tim Minchin is an amazing comedian & a great musician, who's finally getting the media attention he deserves. His act consists of stand-up interspersed with funny songs - this album is just the songs from a live show but still runs to an impressive 74 minutes. For his full routine, check out the So F**cking Rock LIVE! DVD.

A few of the songs on here feature in So F**cking Rock such as Canvas Bags & Dark Side but there's plenty of others as well. The music is always amazing & would make this a respectable album in itself, even without the funny lyrics. There's also a nice mix of fast numbers like Canvas Bags & The Good Book, sublime tracks like Storm; the vitriolic swearfest of The Song For Phil Daoust (a critic who slated Minchin in The Guardian, apparently) & the incredibly sweet & touching Christmas single White Wine In The Sun. Incidentally, there's plenty of swearing & some anti-religious material, which didn't bother me but some people may not like it.

I downloaded it about a week ago & have listened to it every day since - and it still makes me laugh out load. More! More!

Tracks are:

1) Ready For This?
2) Prejudice
3) I Love Jesus
4) The Good Book
5) If I Didn't Have You
6) Confessions
7) Canvas Bags
8) The Interval Song
9) Bears Don't Dig On Dancing
10) Soung For Phil Daoust
11) YouTube Lament
12) Storm
13) Dark Side
14) White Wine In The Sun
15) Encore

5.0 out of 5 stars subline, ridiculous, brillian 19 Oct 2009
Format:Audio CD
A superb album and a superb show, so sad that we can't get hold of more of Tim's stuff here on Amazon, or anywhere at the moment!

I had to download Ready for This? from iTunes and excellent it is too. I have been listening almost non stop since - several songs just get under your skin!

The hilarious "The Song for Phil Daoust"
The wonderful and funny "dark side"
The beautiful, tear jerking "white wine in the sun"
The highly quotable "storm"
The just oh so true "The Good Book"

I must say this is just one of the most listanable comedy albums, hell albums, I have bought recently.

But where is the rest? Where are the other albums?!

Is it a conspiracy?!
