One thing has to be said for Hot Chip, they've got a knack for coming up with little electro-pop tunes that are as catchy as they are innovative. After 2006's 'Over And Over' this edges even further down the straight synth-pop route and it's wider appeal was clearly evident in the way the song effortlessly slid into the charts at an impressive number 6.
But i still don't know where i stand with the band. Elements of them can be quite annoying, one being the singer's voice - it comes out as little more than a whimper and while this doesn't matter as much in the world of electronica/dance, so for all of Ready For The Floor's charm, it limits the ultimate appeal of the song.
The Soulwax Dub that appears on here is pretty good, being the unmixed version of a track which appeared on Soulwax's compilation album at the end of last year. I like the video too, it looks funky and has some nice choreography in it. Aside from that though, the other two tracks on here are pretty forgettable and the weirdness overly persistent.
