Kim has produced an excellent book on the runes in an easy to learn format that covers all you need to know to learn the Runes. In fact the book was conceived as a BAPS (British Astrological & Psychic Society) course book. As such the book is designed especially for those wanting to learn all about runes, not just how to read them, but also the history and mythology of each rune. Nicely illustrated with plenty of sample spreads and readings this book will teach you all you need.

Although there are a few books on runes very few are as comprehensive as this while not being to dry. It impart the knowledge in a very understandable way. Designed as a course book for the British Astrological & Psychic Society, it has been laid out in a methodical way and covers its history and mythology as well as the meaning behind each rune. The book has been designed for someone to learn to read the runes, so it includes lots of example spreads and layouts. It does not though forget the occult and magical use of runes and these are explained in this concise (200pages)book.

This book is a well presented manual with explanations of the history and uses of the runes. As you work your way through, you will find a well written guide to the interpretations of runes - both positive and negative, along with their magical uses. I particularly liked the chapter describing ways to make your own set of runes, and would say that I have learnt much from this book. It's easy to follow, with many illustrations, an excellent book for research into this subject.

On the one hand I'm surprised this is used as a learning resource by BAPS as there are quite a few typo errors, and at least one contradiction within this edition. Read more

Beginners' Guide to Reading the Runes
This was purchased for my daughter to further her knowledge of the subject. She was delighted with it and is finding it extremely informative.

Excellent book for anyone interested in Runes
Bought this as a gift, but liked it so much bought one for myself. It gives plenty of suggestive readings, the history of the runes and the meanings of all of them in depth. Read more
