This book contains everything you need to teach your child to read - I have progressed through this book teaching my son aged 6 how to read. Four months ago, he had problems reading the word "cat". He can now read words like "invisible". My sons attends mainstream infants school, has an attention span problem, and was just not learning to read or write with the normal school methods. I would recommend this book to any parent whose child is experiencing similar problems - I spend around a half hour each day using the various lessons from this book, and the progress my son has made can only be called astounding. I just hope you get a few Teachers reading this review, because if this method was adopted by British Schools, I am sure it would work far better than the existing one, which in my sons case was just not working at all.

Buy this book! 16 Oct 2003
By A Customer
I bought this book as I suspected that my daughter was not enjoying the initial 'learning to read' exercises in school. How right I was! We started on the Sunday after I bought it and by the Wednesday she was reading on her own (the simple stuff of course but still). I highly recommend this as way to engage your child in learning to reading. The interactive nature of the exercises and the presentation keeps her interested and the whole thing feels like a game. Can't recommend it enough.

Brilliant! 9 Jun 2001

I am a newly qualified teacher (qualified June 2000) working with a Reception Class of 25 children in a school in Kent. Throughout my training I was never taught how to teach children to read - then I discovered Reading Reflex! It provides step by step instructions on how to teach ALL children to read through motivating games and activities. The majority of children in my class (20) have a reading age of 18 months beyond their chronological age - both the parents and headteacher are amazed by the childrens' progress, the head so much so, that she is implementing reading reflex across the whole school from September 2001. Don't waste your money, time and effort attempting to teach children to read with other methods that are proven to fail our children, start with reading reflex and you won't look back. On a final note, i would be very interested to hear from other people that have used reading reflex in teaching their children to read. (either parents/teachers

Reading rflex - Phono-graphix
Excellent product but you do need to read and think carefully before moving on. I would not recommend using it without a good read first - and i am a trained SEN teacher!

Buy it, spread the skill!
This is a reading method so elegantly simple, that you wonder why no-one taught it like this before. This book should be a bible for every reception class teacher.
