Excellent resource that builds comprehension, talking and listening skills and thinking skills and does it in a fun and challenging manner! Perfect for children working towards level C or above in the Scottish 5-14 guidelines.

This is the third book of scholastic card games I have purchased. I love using the games in my 6th grade classroom. My students are always excited when I pull out my bin of Language Arts Card Games and they don't even realize they are learning.
The only downside would be the time it takes to copy all the games onto cardstock, laminate, and cut out.
When I have the games ready to go, I place each game in a ziplock bag and label it with the title of the game. I usually have my students set up in 6 groups and I give one bag to each group for about 10 minutes, then I switch the games amongst the groups.

Best book of the series!

I have purchased all three of the titles in this series and have found this one the most useful. Currently I am using the card games with Grade 4 students to work in groups and taking on different roles within the group. The games in this book provide a range of highly engaging and motivating topics for thinking and discussion. Students with a wide range of abilities can play them effectively and get a lot out of it!

My students love to play card games. They are learning and do not realize that they are learning. It is a great time filler for when you have a few extra minutes. It is also great to play with small groups.
