As a child, Cynthia remembers doing a lot of daydreaming and going on amazing adventures with her favourite storybook characters. Cynthia also began writing and illustrating stories for her younger brother, which was probably the spark that eventually led her to being a writer.
Cynthia has now been writing books for numerous reading schemes for over seventeen years, mainly for Key Stage 1. She writes about the Oxford Reading Tree characters in the ever-popular BBC Magic Key Magazine. Cynthia has also had her poetry published in various anthologies and has written the Core Materials for the Dyslexia Institute.
Cynthia has lived in London and Lichfield but feels most at home in countryside. For the last twenty years she has lived in a remote house whose old front door is guarded by two stone eagles.
