Format:Audio CD
The Splinter Group's musical sound is, for want of a better phrase a total of the individual members contributions. They are all experienced, talented musicians who have seen life, experienced a wide range of musical tastes and styles - thrown it all into a melting pot and produced a soup that creates an aural orgasm! A mixture of blues, jazz, R'n'B and thoughtful, reflective lyrics (i.e. "Legal Fee Blues"), with Nigel Watson and Peter Green leading on vocals and guitars with splendid back up from Larry Tolfree (percussion) Roger Cotton (keyboards & rhythm guitar) and Peter Stroud on bass. If you liked "Time Traders" you will like this. If you appreciate grown up music you'll like this. And, if you're lucky to have one of the limited issue with an additional EP CD - you're in for a treat with Black Magic Woman, Green Manalishi & an acoustic Albatross included. The title for the album - for those of you who ask - is a line taken from the late, great Robert Johnson.

This is a great album, more destiny road than time traders. Very bluesy!.
The mixed melodies of the harp and guitar are really great, specially "Dangerous Man", the best song. I Love the way that Peter plays the harmonica.
The band works well, I also like so much the bass.
That cd sounds great since the first play, but sounds better everyday,As The Best Cd's!
The bonus cd got a superb cover of black magic woman, with a little Santana tribute.

What can I say...I am lost for words, the material is shockingly bad, take a listen to 'Cool Down', I have never heard such bland WEAK lyrics in my life, I cringed with embarrassment. Watson's voice is really starting to grate, Peter's is no better, everything sung in a lifeless, sleepy drone, and every song sounds the same as the last one. Watson apes Green's playing all the time so that in the end you dont know who is playing what. The snare sounds like a dust-bin lid. Rather than concentrate on say 8 or 9 really good tracks the album is padded out with 13 dull songs. 'Destiny Road' was a good effort, 'Time Traders' was a weak effort, but this one is the bottom. I love Peter Green and have been a fan all my life but I think its time for a change, this makes the 'Kolors' album sound great!..Michael Green's songwriting is far superior to the terrible songs on this album. Take a listen to Peter on the 'Blues Dont Change' album, where on 'I Believe my Time Ain't Long' where he plays and sings with real passion..more of that Peter please!.
