Product Description

Product Description

Much writing on men in the field of gender studies tends to focus unduly, almost exclusively, on portraying men as villains and women as victims in a moral bi-polar paradigm, Re-Thinking Men reverses the proclivity. With the development of a comparative and revised gender perspective drawing on US, Canadian and UK sources, this book will be of interest to scholars across a range of social sciences.

5.0 out of 5 stars A breath of fresh air. 13 May 2013
By T. Mollers - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
This book is exactly what I was looking for. American men studies tend to be driven by male loathing sycophants who are trying to get in good with the stereotyped "male-hating" feminists. The reality is most feminists do not hate men, and the more modern schools of feminism are very capable of seeing the many positive aspects of masculinity. Synott is a Canadian genius. His work literally changed my life. So many things I wanted to say but lacked the words, statistics, or scholarship to be able to, he lays out in a clean and concise manner. This book gave me everything I need to hold my own in discussions about my sex.
