Product Description

Product Description

Step right up to Cranium Balloon Lagoon, a wondrous carnival of fun for kids! The game's exciting sights and sounds make spelling, matching, and counting fun - so kids learn as they play. Spin the colourful merry-go-round to choose an activity, start the musical timer, and jump into one of four exciting Balloon Lagoon activities: fish for letters at Letter Lake, match treats at Snack Hut, spin a picture puzzle at Tumble Tides, or flip frogs at Frog Pond. With each success, kids collect balloons and move closer to victory. The first to collect 15 balloons wins! Each game lasts about 15 minutes, but kids love to play again and again, making Balloon Lagoon the perfect game for filling a few spare moments or a full afternoon! The rules and assembly are easy, and reading is not required, so kids can enjoy the game on their own, though we guarantee you'll love to play too!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great family game, 7 Mar 2007
I bought this for my four year old as we had Cranium Hullabaloo (also fantastic) and I thought I'd just give it a shot. I'm really pleased I did as it quickly became his favourite board game.

The game is incredibly simple, but it's also fun for us (the parents) and his older brother to play. All you have to do is move your playing piece around the board according to what the spinner/timer in the middle dictates. There are four options. First up is Frog Pond where you'll be flipping frogs from their lilly pads into their pot - like a frog based version of tiddlywinks. Next is Tumble tides where you use a button to spin four parts of a picture to match a whole picture you're given. Third is the Snack hut where you roll 6 dice to try and get as many matching foods as you can. Last is Letter Pond, here you pick a word from a flip-book and then use a magnetic 'rod' to try and fish the correct letters out of the pond. With each game you win balloons to add to your playing piece, and the first to fill their piece wins.

Games last about 15 minutes which is about perfect for holding their attention.

The best bit for me though is that even though the games are educational and fun, they are very simple, and, as they are all to some degree luck based, my 4 year old has as much chance of winning as my 6 year old - essential for mums and dads who always end up consoling the little one with other games:)

4.0 out of 5 stars Great fun for age 3+, 8 April 2008
Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars Educational:4.0 out of 5 stars
This was a present for my 5 year old and he loves it. Interestingly my 3 year old also loves it and spends far more time playing it on his own and with us. He can easily assemble the set and manage all the pieces. So, I wouldn't go by the 5+ rating on the box - it is easily managed by younger children.
