I bought my 11 year old son this for his birthday and at first look it appeared an impossibility to even balance on, let alone ride. Nonetheless, off he disappeared with his new toy and two hours later he returned asking me to "come and watch....." Amazed, I watched as he propelled himself along on a board that looked as flexible as a snake.....
The board itself is made in tough flexible plastic and the wheels are relaceable if/when they become worn. Designed in the U.S. for the U.S. they are best used on smooth concrete surfaces (which they have in abundance out there)..... I'd recommend this toy to any parent - but insist helmets and pads are worn whilst mastering the basics....

FANTASTIC PRODUCT, BOUGHT FOR MY 10 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER FOR CHRISTMAS,AFTER A FEW RIDES UP AND DOWN OUR HALLWAY SHE GOT HER PADS AND HELMET ON AND VENTURED OUTSIDE, I WAS AMAZED HOW QUICKLY SHE GOT TO GRIPS WITH IT. VERY HAPPY.
My son has a pink one (don't laugh), but he loves it. Really good quality at a really good price. It has lasted him all summer, he's been on it every day, and it is still going strong. I bought a similar looking ripstick on ebay at a cheaper price and it snapped in two after two weeks use. As there is a craze for these things at his school, I then paid for this one. Wish I'd gone to Amazon first. Go for quality, not the cheaper immitations!. My son has given up using it outside as it's winter, but he'll be back outside on it in the spring - guaranteed!
