I got this as an upgrade to the Razer Exactmat, and this product does not disappoint. Like its predecessor, it has two sides. One which is smooth and another with a slightly rough texture. The point of this is to suit different play styles and sensitivity. Personally, I go with the rougher side. There is also a wrist-rest included and attached to that is a rubber mat which the actual pad rests on, it's very stable and doesn't move at all from my experience.
The size is just a tad smaller than the Exactmat, in terms of length, you lose about an inch, but the width is pretty much the same. The material used is plastic as the Exactmat was metal. The build quality of the Vespula is very strong, so although it's plastic, it is by no means flimsy. The reason for these comparisons is that the Exactmat is the only other mat like this one.
For the standard day-to-day user, this mat be be a little extreme in terms of pricing. For gaming, I'd say it's worth the buy. I mention in my Imperator review that Razer products aren't cheap, but they are worth it. That can be said for this, but if all you want is a mat then feel free to look elsewhere. If you want a "gaming grade" piece of equipment then the Vespula is worth the price.
