I've owned these headphones for over 6 months now.
Before these I've owned various gaming headsets that were fine for voice conversation, but after a while became uncomfortable, slipped off your head, or put pressure on the ears. Also the sound quality and bass reproduciton of previous gaming (or VOIP) headsets was pathetic, so movies, games and music were not enjoyable.
The Razor Carachias on the otherhand, was worth every penny. I don't use my speakers anymore, these are better than my £200 surround sound system. The bass is excellent and treble is clear. They are so comfortable I often forget they are on my head and get up from my chair. The cable is nice and long, and made of strong anti-tangle material.
There is a couple of downsides.
The volume control is VERY sensitive, and sits near your hips when you're seated so can be inadvertently triggered. Best to use the handy clip on the volume control when possible, to clip it to clothing.
Also, most headsets have a foam muffler over the microphone to reduce wind sound. The microphone is very good and your callers will hear sounds from across the room, but will also hear every breath you take, and if you have a fan pointed at you... you will get complaints :)
I have recommended this to all my friends who are sick of bad quality gaming headsets, and after trying them they were convinced. They are more expensive than most, but they will last you years if you care for them. Razer won't let you down.
