Product Description

Razer BlackWidow

Built with the Razer mechanical switches, the Razer BlackWidow will help you take your game to the next level with more speed and precision. By redefining the limits of performance, this elite gaming keyboard lets you leave the competition in the dust, even faster than before.

World's First Mechanical Switch Designed For Gaming

The Razer BlackWidow features the Razer mechanical switches that have been designed from the ground up with the aim of elevating the speed and responsiveness of the Razer BlackWidow gaming keyboard beyond the capabilities of other mechanical switches. Tested and validated by the eSports athletes, we have identified the optimal actuation distance and reduced the tolerance for faster commands and greater precision when compared to standard mechanical switches. Made to also withstand rigorous physical demands, you can enjoy greater performance and durability.

The Benchmark in The World Of Competitive Gaming

The Razer mechanical switch is designed to actuate at an optimal distance of 1.9 mm into the keystroke and reset itself to fire again at less than half the distance of standard mechanical switchesusp. This allows for blazing fast actuations without having the need to bottom down into the keystroke each time.

Razer Mechanical Switches

Designed specifically for gaming, the Razer mechanical switches actuate at an optimal distance, giving you speed and responsiveness like never before.

Iconic Razer Design

The Razer BlackWidow Ultimate was first launched in 2010. Equipped with the Razer mechanical switches, it continues to raise the bar for mechanical gaming keyboards all over the world.

Greater Durability

No matter how intense your gaming marathons get, each Razer mechanical switch is engineered to withstand up to 60 million keystrokes, so you’ll enjoy the Razer advantage for longer.

Pro Gamer Validated

"Having used the BlackWidow as my default keyboard for all these years, and watching it evolve is truly amazing. Razer takes what is already the best and makes it even better. The new switches feel great and give me total control of each keystroke. This is unlike anything that I have experienced before. ” Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng Counter Logic Gaming | League of Legends

10 Key Rollover

Never miss a single key or, ten for that matter. With built-in anti-ghosting technology, the Razer BlackWidow lets you execute up to ten commands at the same time, each time.

Razer Synapse Enabled

Razer Synapse is a cutting-edge, intuitive software that functions as the Razer BlackWidow’s brain, automatically syncing the gaming keyboard to a cloud server to download driver and firmware updates and also saving your individual settings. Sync your custom settings and macros automatically with this unified configurator, allowing customisation all your Razer products with a single login.

Unfortunately I couldn't leave a review at the website from which I purchased this keyboard, so I'll leave one here instead. This is possibly the best keyboard I have even owned, I've gone through Corsair (STRAFE), Mad Catz (S.T.R.I.K.E 5), Roccat (Arvo), and even an Apple keyboard left over from my old mac. None of them could hold a candle to this. Straight out of the box (which contains some extremely neat packaging and messages from the Cult of Razer) I was pleasantly surprised by how solid and heavy the keyboard actually is, as I originally thought the weight was due to the packaging that kept the keyboard safe. I immediately plugged it into my pc, along with the sound and USB functions that come readily available, and the keyboard itself immediately lit up like Christmas in the middle of August. After locating and downloading Razer Synapse I spent a little time getting familiar with the programmable keys as well as messing around with the Chroma Configurator and changing the light profiles, much to my amusement it still holds my attention even now. I should also mention that the keys are satisfying both to me as a gamer, and as a writer in my spare time. The activation is incredibly quick with zero noticeable lag (which I did notice from time to time with the Apple keyboard, so much for the elite brand there), and the tactile click and noticeable bump make using the keyboard more of a satisfying experience than a chore.Read more ›

I'd like to point out first of all that I own both and have done for some time, I purchased Corsairs RGB keyboard as soon as I could get my hands on it but I bought this about a month ago and have been using it constantly ever since. Both are fantastic keyboards that I would recommend to anyone, but when it comes down to comparing the two there are a few pro's and con's either way.

The Build;

Firstly build quality, the Corsairs aluminium body gives it a great sturdy feel overall, whereas the Razer is mainly plastic with a 'rubberised' texture which can sometimes leave it vulnerable to fingerprints but can look very slick when kept clean. Both are solid and I wouldn't have any worries about them breaking under even heavy use.

The Feel;

They both feel amazing as you would imagine, Corsair uses CherryMX switches which are tried and tested and work extremely well, however I do actually prefer Razers own switches as they have a satisfying 'click' to them and feel fantastic especially when typing in long sessions.

Finally, the reason you're even looking into these keyboards - The Lights;

I have to say that the Razer Chroma's lighting is miles ahead in terms of brightness and vibrancy so if the lights are a deal-breaker for you then I would recommend the Razer over the Corsair hands down, although there are a few things to think about. Corsairs software is a lot more customisable than Razers however it has a much bigger learning curve. I'm hoping that Razer will offer more customisation via their Synapse software at a later date.

TL;DR I'd recommend both to anyone, however Razer's Chroma wins in my opinion.

I purchased this product a few weeks ago as I wanted a mechanical RGB keyboard. Although the switches are arguably better on the Corsair K70 RGB, I chose this one because: The LEDs are brighter, the software is more user friendly and it was around £15 cheaper.

The build quality of the keyboard is better than I originally anticipated. It is made of plastic ,unlike the metal build of the Corsair K70 RGB and maybe other high end keyboards, but it does feel very robust and solid, and it's quite heavy but this is to be expected with any mechanical, full size keyboard. It does not flex at all. It has a matte black plastic covering almost the entire keyboard which although looks nice, it doesn't feel premium and leaves fingerprints which are quite hard to rub off.

The software is very easy to use and very stable. You can choose to have: Wave pattern, static colour, ripple and reactive. My current setup is a static rainbow which I downloaded from the Razer website. You can also use chroma configurator to make (almost) any combination you like. The brightness mode is very useful (0-100% fully custom scale) and even at 50% brightness it is much brighter than my old Logitech G110 keyboard. At maximum brightness you and even see the keys and colours clearly in a light room, so if you're worried about the brightness of the LEDs, then don't!

I can't say much about the key switches, as this is my first mechanical keyboard, but they are great for gaming and decent for typing, and they do sound like the Cherry MX Blue switches (Which create a nice loud click) but you should consider the stealth edition if you do not like loud keys or if you are using the keyboard in a quiet office environment.
