Product Description

Razer BlackWidow

Built with the Razer mechanical switches, the Razer BlackWidow will help you take your game to the next level with more speed and precision. By redefining the limits of performance, this elite gaming keyboard lets you leave the competition in the dust, even faster than before.

World's First Mechanical Switch Designed For Gaming

The Razer BlackWidow features the Razer mechanical switches that have been designed from the ground up with the aim of elevating the speed and responsiveness of the Razer BlackWidow gaming keyboard beyond the capabilities of other mechanical switches. Tested and validated by the eSports athletes, we have identified the optimal actuation distance and reduced the tolerance for faster commands and greater precision when compared to standard mechanical switches. Made to also withstand rigorous physical demands, you can enjoy greater performance and durability.

The Benchmark in The World Of Competitive Gaming

The Razer mechanical switch is designed to actuate at an optimal distance of 1.9 mm into the keystroke and reset itself to fire again at less than half the distance of standard mechanical switchesusp. This allows for blazing fast actuations without having the need to bottom down into the keystroke each time.

Razer Mechanical Switches

Designed specifically for gaming, the Razer mechanical switches actuate at an optimal distance, giving you speed and responsiveness like never before.

Iconic Razer Design

The Razer BlackWidow was first launched in 2010. Equipped with the Razer mechanical switches, it continues to raise the bar for mechanical gaming keyboards all over the world.

Greater Durability

No matter how intense your gaming marathons get, each Razer mechanical switch is engineered to withstand up to 60 million keystrokes, so you’ll enjoy the Razer advantage for longer.

Pro Gamer Validated

"Having used the BlackWidow as my default keyboard for all these years, and watching it evolve is truly amazing. Razer takes what is already the best and makes it even better. The new switches feel great and give me total control of each keystroke. This is unlike anything that I have experienced before. ” Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng Counter Logic Gaming | League of Legends

10 Key Rollover

Never miss a single key, or ten for that matter. With built-in anti-ghosting technology, the Razer BlackWidow lets you execute up to ten commands at the same time, each time.

Razer Synapse Enabled

Razer Synapse is a cutting-edge, intuitive software that functions as the Razer BlackWidow’s brain, automatically syncing the gaming keyboard to a cloud server to download driver and firmware updates and also saving your individual settings. Sync your custom settings and macros automatically with this unified configurator, allowing customisation of all your Razer products with a single login.

I'd like to point out first of all that I own both and have done for some time, I purchased Corsairs RGB keyboard as soon as I could get my hands on it but I bought this about a month ago and have been using it constantly ever since. Both are fantastic keyboards that I would recommend to anyone, but when it comes down to comparing the two there are a few pro's and con's either way.

The Build;

Firstly build quality, the Corsairs aluminium body gives it a great sturdy feel overall, whereas the Razer is mainly plastic with a 'rubberised' texture which can sometimes leave it vulnerable to fingerprints but can look very slick when kept clean. Both are solid and I wouldn't have any worries about them breaking under even heavy use.

The Feel;

They both feel amazing as you would imagine, Corsair uses CherryMX switches which are tried and tested and work extremely well, however I do actually prefer Razers own switches as they have a satisfying 'click' to them and feel fantastic especially when typing in long sessions.

Finally, the reason you're even looking into these keyboards - The Lights;

I have to say that the Razer Chroma's lighting is miles ahead in terms of brightness and vibrancy so if the lights are a deal-breaker for you then I would recommend the Razer over the Corsair hands down, although there are a few things to think about. Corsairs software is a lot more customisable than Razers however it has a much bigger learning curve. I'm hoping that Razer will offer more customisation via their Synapse software at a later date.

TL;DR I'd recommend both to anyone, however Razer's Chroma wins in my opinion.

I bought this keyboard because I've been bedazzled by one particular game on my pc (I'm not normally a game player). I wanted a mechanical keyboard to provide better gaming control which is it does, so no complaint there. To echo other reviewers, I find the font for the keys an odd choice - the letters simply look odd even after using it for a few months. But my main complaint is the way the letters wear away. The letter W in particular is now just a faded grey from over use in gaming and one or two other keys are going the same way. I wouldn't put anyone off nuying this keyboard for the use it's intended for, but be aware of these drawbacks.

I just got this for Christmas and I love it!

I've been wanting a mechanical keyboard for a long time and the Blackwidow just seemed like the best one for the job, as I game a fair bit and I also like to program.

I can't find too many problems with it, to be completely honest! It's backlight is fantastic, the keys sound brilliant, and it's so easy on the fingers. The only thing I don't like about it is the num lock icon area. You can't see exactly what's on from an angle, but only from straight-down.

I think it's a fantastic product and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone, not just to gamers!

For years I used a simple saitek eclipse. It did the job and did it well. At some point in my gaming career I started to push out and buy expensive kit. I have no idea why...as I'm no pro but I like quality and good customer service. RAZER mice have always been nothing but fantastic....always. I still have my copperhead and it is fantastic. So I thought I would try their range of keyboards.

This is the second keyboard I have bought from RAZER. The previous one was the RAZER deathstalker. That was junk. Great lights, very wide and flat keyboard. Took a while to get used to the chiclet keys but it developed a fault or had it from the word go. Repeating characters randomly. So sent it back.

Then I took the plunge as I wanted a mechanical keyboard. Now this keyboard is well made, lovely matt finish. Very bright green glow, which is adjustable to your desired setting to humble glow to retina stripping visual citric acid. Brilliant for use in a completey dark room at night.

The keyboard itself is of a regular size. However due to the incluasion of the 'M keys' everything is shifted over. So when I first got this my muscle memory and positioning of hands took a while searching out the keys. So if your moving from a regular keyboard be wary of this. Especially if you play a lot of CS or other competitive style games. As it gets a pain in the hoop until you get used to it. I also have quite big hands so this doesn't help either. I wish there was an option without the M keys and increase the spacing of the keys.

I opted for this stealth keyboard over the regular one. I know people have differing interpretations of what words mean etc but to label this as stealth is a bit of an awkward one.

So I've only had this for a few days so far, but I absolutely love it. The lighting is completely unneccessary, but it's beautiful and I love that too. I guess there are practical uses for it, for setting up certain colours for certain keys. Can be pretty helpful to show different keybinding zones for mmos, or to highlight the main use buttons for mobas/fps etc. For me I don't think I'll really need that once I get used to it and figure out where all the buttons are, but just being able to have those options are pretty awesome. I like the size of the keyboard too, it doesn't take up too much space.

I'm still not entirely used to the position of all the buttons, as I've never really had a keyboard with macro buttons on the side before. It shifts the placement of all the buttons along a bit and as a result I've found myself hitting the wrong buttons quite a lot so far when playing League of Legends, however even with that issue I've noticed an increase in my performance and have found it much easier in activating my abilities quickly and when I want them. Typing feels a lot easier too, and it definitely feels like I'm typing quicker and making less mistakes than I was on my old keyboard. I wanted to get a Chroma Stealth, but that's not available in the UK layout so I came pretty close to just buying another brand of keyboard, as I really didn't want to get the loud clicky switches, but I'm glad I did. There's something incredibly satisfying about the the sound you get when typing. It just feels and sounds very responsive and it's awesome.

One of my favourite features is the USB pass through, which was very helpful in being able to place my webcam in a good position (I wasn't able to do that before due to where my PC is located).
