Recently bought these to replace an old but incredible set. We've had Prestige copper-base pans for almost 25 years. They have been used, abused, dropped, crushed (don't ask), burnt to charcoal and even on a couple of memorable occasions, set on fire. After soaking and a quick scrub the pans have recovered every time and in fact look almost as good as new, but the handles are now slightly dodgy. Our eldest daughter has her eye on these fantastic quality pans for when she leaves home, she has seen first-hand how a completely burnt out pan can be restored and leave no evidence! A couple of years ago we bought a Stellar set, and although they look brilliant and weren't cheap, they didn't live up to expectations so we put them away again and went back to the old ones. That's second daughter happy, she likes shiny new things.
We went to a few quality cookshops and finally saw these which are as close to the original pans as we could find. They are very very heavy, a good sign (unless you have weak wrists) and the handles are properly riveted onto the pans, which should make them less likely to work loose over the years. These pans are excellent quality, cook evenly and clean up beautifully if you look after them. We particularly like the fact that they have steel handles as well so you can put them in the oven for a slower cook, great! The kids haven't managed to burn anything in them yet so I can't tell whether the pans will survive that sort of treatment.
We have discovered that you get what you pay for with saucepans, and these are excellent quality. If they last as long as the our original copper-base pans we'll be happy!
