Amazon.co.uk Review

The Wii gets a lot of stick for its abundance of mini-game compilations but that criticism would feel all the sharper if it wasn’t for the fact that most of them are still a lot of fun. Launch game Rayman Raving Rabbids was one of the best and this uses the same basic concept while greatly improving the actual individual games themselves. Instead of being captured, this time the strangely limbless Rayman has to sneak his way into a rabbid headquarters near a shopping centre as the demonic rabbit creatures plan an invasion of Earth (or wherever it is that Rayman actually lives).

Rayman’s disguises, and those of the rabbids themselves, can all be customised but involve a huge range of movie and video game parodies, from Naruto and Star Wars to Super Mario and Transformers. The actual mini-games are similarly eager to poke fun at anything and everything they can think of including a Guitar Hero spoof, twisted versions of traditional baseball and football sims and even a mini-game set in Ubisoft’s own offices which tasks you with the arduous goal of not getting any work done.

There are 60 mini-games in total, with the rhythm action stages making a comeback, in revamped form, alongside the popular first person shoot ‘em-up levels. In fact there’s overall a much greater emphasis now on multiplayer games – one of the weak spots of the original. Almost every game can be played with a friend now, allowing everyone to share the surreality.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious Family Fun 4 Dec 2008
By Amazon Customer TOP 500 REVIEWER
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This is the second of the three titles I bought together. This one again has been tried out by my 'trusty' researchers and all loved it. Of the three Raving Rabbid DS games out, this is by far the best. We have all created our own personal 'rabbid' and each of us have managed to create quite unique characters. You win clothing, implements, facial and other features by how good you do in the game and then you can dress your own personal 'rabbid'. Great fun, easy mini games, just pop in play and laugh. I'm sure this isn't going to sit in any one of our DS's for hours but for a bit of lighthearted fun it's perfect and will definitely be another keeper unlike the other two versions which were exchanged within days!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Fun! 30 Dec 2008
By Craig Taylor VINE VOICE
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
These Rabbids have got to be some of the biggest new stars to arrive in the gaming world for quite some time.
In the game you get to create your own Rabbid, adding clothes and even your own voice.
The game is made up of loads of different mini-games that ask you to tap the screen at the write moment, blow/talk into the mic and even draw and shade in on the screen. All of the DS's features are used well. There are plenty of different mini games to chosse from, and you won't get bored trying to out do these rabbids.
A great game that adults and kids will love!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for younger kids! 18 Jun 2009
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
Knew nothing about the game, but reviews looked favourable. Big success with my two (6 and 3 years old)-really liked the silly noises and the fact that you could 'design' your on Rabbid! Reasonably easy to navigate around and easy to use-3 year old found it very easy and has being playing it a lot (much to her bothers annoyance!!).
