4.0 out of 5 stars I Hate To Say It But.... 2 April 2007
Format:Audio CD
This is actually an OK set of music from the lad.

I am not a fan, just to get that straight. I am 25, and believe that i order to sing these songs and mean it you need some sort of life experience in order to sound credible. That's just my opinion on this sort of music.

But from a listeners point of view, I think that he has a good voice, sings confidently, and it is a nice collection of music that you can stick on and enjoy.

Forget X Factor...this dude can sing.

5.0 out of 5 stars bravo our kid 30 Sep 2007
By Bj Lucas VINE VOICE
Format:Audio CD
Well, how about this? a young scouser with talent who sings songs like they ought to be sung. Ray Quinn, having enjoyed succes as part of the cast in brookside, joined the X factor last year. coming second to Leona, this is his first album. Irressistable swing, and great melodies permeate this great album. 'Ain't that a kick in the head' 'That's life' and 'Mack the knife' are just some of the treats in store on this brilliant album. Bravo Ray!.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great debut! 7 April 2007
Format:Audio CD
I caught Ray by complete chance on the X Factor and have really enjoyed his music ever since, he's a natural entertainer and a terrific exponent of Swing. Yes, of course some of the songs on this enjoyable album would benefit from a few more years of accrued experience but it's actually surprising how assured he already sounds on numbers like Mack the Knife, Ain't That A Kick in the Head and My Way. Agree wholeheartedly with another comment that this album is the perfect way to start the day since it generates a real feel-good feeling. What more can you ask?!

4.0 out of 5 stars Better than expected! 19 April 2007
Format:Audio CD
I love this cd - o.k. I know that he is no Sammy D or Frank S, but I knew that before I bought it. I don't honestly believe that those reviewers who rubished it actually bought it. He actually sings better than he did on X-Factor, and I have already played it several times, something I rarely do with a new cd. Well done Ray. I will even consider paying money to watch you when you appear in Ipswich later this year!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Ray way 16 Mar 2007
Format:Audio CD
Yes, it might be a very easy production for Simon and his recordcompany.

Yes, the songs are well known evergreens and we've heard them all redone before by either Westlife, Robbie Williams or others.

And yes, those so called "real-music-lovers" will probably hate this CD, but then again, they hate all those X-Factor-like productions anyway.

But this is Ray. And those who seen Ray in The X-Factor before, will all forget all these remarks instantly, cause with each song you'll see the big smile of Ray in your mind, knowing he loved every minute of making this CD. In each song his enthausiasm and effort is showing more and more. When I listen to Robbie Williams "Swing when you're winning", I see two annoying big eyes of a spoiled and unhappy guy, singing songs that doesn't fit to him and his behaviour. Then I rather listen to someone who really wanted this to happen and did his very best to achieve it, I rather listen to Ray, on this CD. It so fits him!

5.0 out of 5 stars This was number 1 in the album charts last week! 31 Mar 2007
Format:Audio CD
I wanted Ray to win and voted for him each week. When the album came out I bought it (along with Ben Mill's for my mum)any after playing it, it brought back Ray's performances all over again. He is really about swing, although he showed how versatile he is when doing up tempo too. if he couldn't sing (as one review said) millions of people would not have voted for him. Its refreshing to see a young man sticking to his own thing - and as I said when I reviewed Ben's album, the first album for all the X factor contestants is always the songs that did well for them on the show - I dont think they have much choice in the matter if they didnt win - but I truly believe Ray will be around for years - and I agree he is a great entertainer and is brilliant live on TV - he should have his own show - it would attract a lot of viewers. The X factor this year had some brilliant finalists in it - weren't we lucky! Here's waiting for the next show..

5.0 out of 5 stars Ray Quinn - Ray Quinn 25 Oct 2007
By P. D. A. WALDER VINE VOICE
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
What a fantatic voice and album. Favourite tracks are Smile and What A Wonderful World.

I brought tickets for my Mum and I to go and see him at the Brighton Centre on 21st October just after she was diagnosed with cancer in May and this was one of her aims to get to see him, but sadly she died on the 16th July. I wasn't going to go but did so for Mum and I am so glad I did, he was very funny and talked alot to us all and as well as doing songs from the Ray Quinn album he did a fantastic Elvis Presley medley and what got me is Mum's favourite song is Michael Buble's Home which is going to be Westlife's new single and Ray sang a fantastic version of it. He said it was going to be on his album but was not so hopefully on his next album he will have this version on there.

I look forward to hearing some new songs soon from Ray in the future I hope.

I would like to thank Ray for a wonderful evening despite Mum not being here with me.

Think Ray Quinn's great ever since watching him on the X Factor. Swing music isn't normally my thing, but this CD is great, really enjoyable.
